Relevant to chemists publishing in american Chemical Society journals, with sections for editors, authors, reviewers, and scientists publishing outside of the scientific literature as well.
http://pubs.acs.org/instruct/ethic.html
Ethical Guidelines
The Editors of journals published by the American Chemical Society provide a set of ethical guidelines for persons engaged in the publication of chemical research, specifically, for editors, authors, and manuscript reviewers. These guidelines were developed by the Editors of the journals published by the Publications Division of the ACS and are reviewed regularly to ensure their clarity. The ACS Journals' Ethical Guidelines are offered from a conviction that the observance of high ethical standards is so vital to the whole scientific enterprise that a definition of those standards should be brought to the attention of all concerned. The American Literature on the Web site is maintained by Akihito Ishikawa, Department of English at Nagasaki University of Foreign Studies, Japan.
This set of American literature resource pages is mainly a collection of links to sites on the Internet especially dealing with American literature and its social, cultural contexts. It includes homepages and documents on over 300 authors and electronic texts of their works. I have also included literary indexes which contain pointers to individual author sites, electronic texts or other related materials.
I try to make it fairly comprehensive, but obviously everything is NOT collected here. For a more complete listing of electronic texts, search the various e-text archives or collections listed in this site or use search engines for more web resources on a particular author.
Admittedly, many of these sites are short-lived; they disappear or move elsewhere on the web in a very short period of time. If you encounter a dead link in this site, please let me know about it and also send me any comments or suggestions for links I should maintain. (Email to
