OUR USERS Here are just a few unsolicited testimonials from current Algebrator users: Your program so far has been great. I purchased this software for my 13 yr. old daughter who is having some problems in math. We have a tutor coming over to the house and between your software and him she got her first "A" in a very hard chapter test. As you might know sometimes when you see a different approach on a problem or sometimes just someone else showing you different ways to understand the problem that is all it takes. Your software seems to give this problem solving approach in a way that is easy to understand. Thanks again, the whole Turley family. Walt Turley, Long Beach, CA I think this is a great piece of software. I applaud your efforts to bring a product to struggling math students such as myself.

Algebra/Trig Review
This review was originally written for my Calculus I class but it should be accessible to anyone needing a review in some basic algebra and trig topics.  The review contains the occasional comment about how a topic will/can be used in a calculus class.  If you aren’t in a calculus class you can ignore these comments.  I don’t cover all the topics that you would see in a typical Algebra or Trig class, I mostly only cover those that I feel would be most useful for a student in a Calculus class although I have included a couple that are not really required for a Calculus class.  These extra topics were included simply because the do come up on occasion and I felt like including them. Because this review was originally written for my Calculus students to use as a test of their algebra and/or trig skills it is generally in the form of a problem set.  The solution to the first problem in a set contains detailed information on how to solve that particular type of problem.  The remaining solutions are also fairly detailed and may contain further required information that wasn’t given in the first problem, but they probably won’t contain explicit instructions or reasons for performing a certain step in the solution process.  It was my intention in writing the solutions to make them detailed enough that someone needing to learn a particular topic should be able to pick the topic up from the solutions to the problems.  I hope that I’ve accomplished this.

    Motivation
Early in the development of computer graphics it was realized that projective geometry is very well suitable to represent points and transformations. Now we can realize that another change of paradigm is lying ahead of us. It is based on the so-called Geometric Algebra. Maybe you already use quaternions or lie algebra in additon to the well-known vector algebra. You may ask " Why should I use another mathematical system ?". We will emphasize in this half day tutorial that Geometric Algebra
    • is a unified language for a lot of mathematical systems used in Computer Graphics
    • can be used in an easy and geometrically intuitive way in Computer Graphics.
We will focus on the (5D) Conformal Geometric Algebra. It is an extention of the 4D projective geometric algebra. E.g. spheres and circles are simply represented by algebraic objects. To represent a circle you only have to take two spheres ( or a sphere and a plane ) and to intersect them with help of the meet operation. E.g. the inverse kinematics of a robot can be computed in an easy way.
