161. An Open Letter To All ARA Members
Information about racquetball events in alberta, canada. Tournament results and related links.
http://www.racquetballalberta.com/
To all ARA members, September 2005 Just a quick note to update you on the new Boards progress. We finally have our funding situation settled. Due to a huge time commitment from Gerry and his family. I guess that's why his name came up when we were looking to rebuild!!! We have been in discussions with our primary funding sources to get some ideas about where our spending can go. Although a good chunk of funding must go to Junior development, we have found out there are many areas for player development we can utilize. There will be information available very soon about reffing clinics, coaching clinics etc. If any of you would like to increase your reffing skills or become certified coaches, keep an eye on this site for more info or get in touch with one of the Board members through this website. Although there are pretty reasonable fees to take your coaching courses, you can recoup the funds pretty quick by doing clinics and helping out with our Junior program. If any players have contacts with people that need help setting up leagues , lessons or tournaments let us know. We're here

The Reindeer Herders of the Mackenzie Delta The Reindeer Herders of the Mackenzie Delta tells the story of the Pulk family of Norway and the Binder family of the Canadian Arctic who were joined together in both marriage and in the difficult task of introducing reindeer husbandry to a new country. In this book, Lloyd Binder, the grandson of Mikkel Pulk, one of the first Sami herders, tells the story of his father, Otto Binder, his mother, Ellen Pulk Binder, as well as his own life story - recounting the history, development, challenges, and inevitable failures of reindeer herding over the last century.

Spirit of Joy
This lively collection of anecdotes traces 80 years in the life and times of a remarkable Canadian woman, equally at home in a western saddle or a national boardroom. Joy Harvie Maclaren captures the freshness of growing up in western Canada in the 1920s and 30s, the excitement and poignancy of attending Macdonald College, McGill during the war years, family life in a small Quebec town, the challenge of blindness, and her ongoing interest in aboriginal culture and national affairs. Told with candour and warm good humour, Maclaren's life story stretches across the country with great affection and deep commitment.
