Theodore About Alabama Metropolitan Region - In this contrasting slice of the state, you'll find speed at Talladega Superspeedway, big-city living in Greater Birmingham, peaches like no others in Chilton County, the crash of water rushing over Noccalula Falls and M-Class cars moving along assembly lines at the Mercedes plant in Vance. River Heritage Region - Travelers can take a weekend, a week or a month exploring the natural and manmade beauty of this region. One way to start the adventure is on the edge of Mississippi, in charming Choctaw County. A stop at Choctaw County Historical Museum at the intersection of Alabama Highway 17 and County Road 14 in tiny Gilbertown offers a great overview of this region of the state.

We actually had the luxury this time of having quite a few more candidates than there are positions available under the Alabama Region's bylaws. We even had to have a runoff between two candidates. To those that were nominated but not elected this time your are encouraged to help and participate in taking leadership tasks in helping us go forward in 2004 to make the region bigger and better.I appreciate your offering to serve on the board in 2004. As to those who elected me as Regional Executive for 2004, I appreciate your vote of confidence and will work hard in this coming year to build on the outstanding accomplishments that were achieved in 2003 by our Board and our Membership. To the 2003 Board of Directors I wish to express my deepest gratitude and apologize for any gray hairs anyone on the board may have gotten in helping us achieve the very lofty goals that were reached in 2003. Sometimes what we set out to do was uncharted waters for us but we made it and did it right (or as right as we could).
