Computers, websites and e-mail may not be for everybody, but if you are willing to try it, there is a lot of information about anything you can think of on the internet; including lots of information on horticulture, nurseries and nursery suppliers, associations and agencies important to the nursery industry, newletters, magazines and university educational materials. The internet has the most current information about nearly any topic and is increasing in websites and users at a phenomenal rate. For information about horticulture or nurseries you can choose your favorite search engine such as Yahoo!, InfoSeek, WebCrawler, Excite Lycos and several others. If you put in words or phrases such as: nursery associations, or horticulture courses or nursery and landscape businesses ,the search will reveal several pages of websites. The websites and email addresses that I am including here are ones that I have found as I have read electronic newsletters and from other various e-mail messages I have received. Generally these are non-commercial websites including nursery associations and societies, government agencies, universities, electronic newsletters and magazines, with a few other interesting websites thrown in. My lists are not intended to be all inclusive so I hope no one is upset if an important website has been left off. Just drop me a note (my e-mail address is included) and I will add it to my list.

This journal has had the distinct pleasure of publishing Amb. Bullington's missives from Niamey for more than three years. They present not only a fascinating picture of that far-away city and land, but also an accurate portrait of how many American live abroad, representing their country as volunteers and Peace Corps officials, and as plain American citizens. Following is the latest in this valuable series of reports. Ed. Niger, Lush and Green
The swollen Niger River at Gaya, where it forms the border with Benin. Note the old bridge at right, almost under water.
We returned from a lengthy and pleasant home leave to the greenest Niger we have yet experienced. The rainy season began in May, a few weeks earlier than normal, and the rains were abundant throughout the summer, ending about on schedule in late September. Records indicate this has been the wettest rainy season in about three decades. The semi-arid zone in the southern third of the country, where almost all of the people live, has become almost lush with greenery, and grass has appeared far north into the Sahara. Farmers are harvesting an excellent crop of millet and other grains, and the nomadic pastoralists have found ample pastures for their herds. Minister Jim and Alabama Memories
No, I’ve not been "born again," and I remain deeply non-religious; but this particular church, it seemed to me, was not to be missed, since I was publicly advertised as its Minister! Moreover, it is located about half a mile from where Mike lives, near Braselton, Georgia, right on the highway leading to his home. And since Mike and I were raised in the Church of Christ, it evoked a good deal of nostalgia.

I want to begin by thanking all of the people who made this possibleHarry Watson and the Center for the Study of the American South, the Chancellor for endorsing this process, and, in the spirit of what Michelle Laws said about the struggle that it took to get the Black Cultural Center, I want to give special thanks to all of those who worked with me to get signatures for the letter to the Chancellor and to push for this discussion to take place. Without a movement we would not be here today. We are not here simply because we have controversial icons, or statues, or building names. It required that somebody make an issue of these things. This will not be easy. It means criticizing the university, looking at some disturbing aspects of our history without flinching, and stirring up controversy. As I can tell you, while my experience is not as difficult as those in Alabama who have raised these kinds of issues, we will have to deal with some harsh criticism. At the same time, it is important for us to appreciate how hard it is for many people to hear criticism of what they hold dear.

    Background
Created in 1987, the National Center for Agricultural Law Research and Information (NCALRI) conducts research and analysis at the University of Arkansas School of Law through a program. supported by the U.S. National Agricultural Library (NAL). The Center's activities related to agricultural global trade and international development are discussed in this section. In order to provide up-to-date information to farmers, agribusinesses, attorneys, community groups, and others confronting agricultural law issues, the Center conducts ongoing research and analysis. The NCALRI also provides a central system for collecting and indexing agricultural law materials and for maintaining current bibliographies on pressing agricultural law topics, including those affecting specific countries and regions of the world. Attorneys at the Center disseminate information through symposia, publications, and television and radio presentations. Since the NCALRI's inception, its attorneys have given more than 173 symposia presentations in 29 states, as well as in France, Switzerland, Scotland, and England. By adding records to the NAL's international data base, AGRICOLA, the Center ensures global availability of its findings. Besides focusing efforts on research, writing, publishing, developing library services, and dissemination of information to the public, the Center has strong educational interests because of its location. The School of Law has a well-established commitment to the discipline of agricultural law. This School offers the only advanced degree program available in the United States, the Master of Laws (LL.M) degree program in Agricultural Law. This program supplies the NCALRI with graduate fellows to assist the staff with work on various projects. Extending this cooperation, the NCALRI's attorneys each teach a course every academic year in the agricultural law program. Additionally, the NCALRI enjoys close cooperation with the Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Life and Food Sciences and the American Agricultural Law Association, which maintains its national office at the School of Law.

    http://www.tysknews.com/Depts/Constitution_Issues/putting_god_back.htm
Putting God Back in the Public Square Roy S. Moore
Circuit Judge, 16th Judicial District Twice in recent years the Honorable Roy S. Moore [ brief biography ] has been sued for displaying the Ten Commandments in his courtroom. He discussed his case in a student-sponsored lecture on the Hillsdale campus in early 1999. Judge Moore's remarks are based in part on his article that appears in the Summer 1999 issue of the Cumberland Law Review. In his first official act, President George Washington did something that would be unthinkable today. He prayed in public! Specifically, during his inaugural address he made fervent supplications to that Almighty Being who rules over the universe, who presides in the councils of nations, and whose providential aids can supply every human defect, that His benediction may consecrate to the liberties and happiness of the people of the United States a Government instituted by themselves for these essential purposes.... No people can be bound to acknowledge and adore the Invisible Hand which conducts the affairs of men more than the people of the United States. Every step by which they have advanced to the character of an independent nation seems to have been distinguished by some token of providential agency. If that were not enough, Washington added, "We ought to be no less persuaded that the propitious smiles of Heaven can never be expected on a nation that disregards the eternal rules of order and right which Heaven itself has ordained."
