    20. APTP - General Information
Intermediate and advanced math placement tests are administered to students In general, those who have taken a solid three to four years of high school
    http://www.washington.edu/oea/geninfo.htm
The Academic Placement Testing Program (APTP) is a cooperative program for the state's four-year public universities (excluding The Evergreen State College). It is not valid at any community college . Intermediate and advanced math placement tests are administered to students who are planning to enroll in first-year mathematics courses at Central Washington University, Eastern Washington University, the University of Washington, Washington State University or Western Washington University. The test results are used to help students, working with their university advisers, select the mathematics courses for which they are best prepared.
Students must choose between one of the two exams, depending on their mathematics background. In general, those who have taken a solid three to four years of high school mathematics should take the Advanced Mathematics Placement Test. All other students who plan to take mathematics courses should take the Intermediate Mathematics Placement Test. Although you are allowed one hour to complete the exam, you should allow for at least two hours for test administration. Calculators are not needed on the exam and therefore, are not allowed. Scratch paper will be provided. Questions regarding exemption from testing should be directed to the mathematics department of the university the student plans to attend. Specific policies regarding placement testing for individual universities can be found at the following locations:
