Aroutis Foster I started my doctoral program in Fall 2003, so I am a rookie in the LTC program. I came to the program primarily from a Communications and Art background, along with a lot of multimedia experience. I had all these things I like to do and decided to combine them for further studies in education because I saw how multimedia helped me in learning and understanding. These interests brought me to the Learning, Technology, and Culture doctoral program at MSU where I am interested in software design for learning purposes. At the moment, I am looking specifically at software design of computer simulations and its use as an aid to learning in the physical sciences. GO State!

I came to the LTC program at MSU because many prominent scholars offer various courses enough to satisfy my interests. Now I am heartily enjoying the environment here for study and research. Also I like the close relation with the faculty and students that is just like a family. Though I am a first-year student, I am sure that the LTC program will lead me to success. adult education - history
An introductory reading list
This select, annotated, bibliography has been designed to give a flavour of the development of adult education. The focus here is on the UK - but material from other countries is included. This is, necessarily, a selection - so a lot has been left out. We're still working on the later sections. At the moment I have annotated the general histories and listed books dealing with different institutions. I will be annotating these over the next few months. If you have suggestions about areas or specific texts for inclusion, I'd like to hear from you.

Born in Calcutta, the son of a Sanskrit scholar, he was educated at Rugby School and Balliol College, Oxford. At Rugby R. H. Tawney formed a lasting friendship with William Temple (later to be Archbishop of Canterbury) and while he became deeply critical of public schools, he does appear to have taken on some of that school’s emphasis upon morality. At Balliol he deepened his appreciation of social moralism and joined the Christian Social Union. As Terrill (1973: 25) comments, the ‘social problem’ was still very much in the air at Oxford, as was a ‘vigorous, but not destructive questioning of religion’. R. H. Tawney left Oxford in 1903 and went to live at
