Charitable Partnerships
The Detroit Repertory Theatre Charitable Outreach Program helps groups and organizations help the needy by providing them with an inexpensive venue to raise funds. The return on investment for booking a performance can be as high as 30 or 400 percent. Charitable causes raise over $200,000 a year in this manner. Interested parties can inquire about a fundraising partnership with the Repertory by contacting DRT Group Sales Manager, Annie Cross Find out more about Fundraisers
Cultural Fellowship Program

The Cultural Fellowship Program is an educational service by which tickets are systematically distributed to clients of social and private agencies serving the disenfranchised, the challenged, and the underserved from the inner and outer city so that they can attend performances at the Detroit Repertory Theatre on a regular basis. 60 to 80 agencies partner with the Repertory each year. The Cultural Fellowship Program recognizes that regular attendance is necessary if the cultural experience is to impact effectively. The goal is to help create an alternative life style, not merely provide a visit.

SCO Education Professional Certification Programs
Professional Certification
Individuals and organizations look to the benefits of education certifications to offer a way to validate the expertise of the people who work with today's products and technologies. Obtain SCO certifications to help identify your team or yourself as key players and technical experts who know how to use SCO product solutions and tools. To advance your IT career, SCO Education maintains three professional certifications for SCO OpenServer, and UnixWare: The Professional Certification are:
  • Certified System Administrator (CSA) Advanced Certified Engineer (ACE) Master ACE
Certified System Administrator (CSA): The SCO Certified System Administrator (CSA) certification is the basic level of certification for SCO UNIX products, and is the first step in achieving your ACE or Master ACE advance certifications. The CSA exam tests knowledge gained by completing either the UnixWare or OpenServer System Administration I and II courses. After taking these courses, a candidate for the SCO CSA should be able to install the system, do user and group management, be familiar with the SCO Admin tool, install and configure print services, and perform other general system management tasks. With your CSA, employers and clients will know that you posses the needed skills to efficiently administer SCO UNIX products.

Sixth Australasian Computing Education Conference (ACE2004)
18 - 22 January 2004, Dunedin, New Zealand
The Sixth Australasian Computing Education Conference (ACE 2004) will be part of the Australasian Computer Science Week , 18-22 January 2004, Dunedin, New Zealand. The technical program of ACE 2004 will consist of both presentations and demonstrations. The conference solicits submissions that describe innovations in teaching computing in its various aspects, e.g. computer science, information systems, software engineering and information technology, at all levels and in all contexts. Typical topics include, but are not restricted to, innovations in the following areas:
  • course content,
  • curriculum structure,
  • methods of instruction,
  • methods of assessment,
  • tools to aid in teaching or learning, and
  • evaluations of alternative approaches.
These innovations may be in the context of formal courses or self-directed learning; they may involve, for example, introductory programming, service courses, specialist undergraduate or postgraduate topics, industry-related short courses. We welcome submissions directed at issues of current and local importance, as well as topics of international interest. Such topics may include transition from school to university, articulation between vocational and university education, quality management in teaching, teaching people from other cultures, attracting and retaining female students, and flexible learning. The program committee will select the papers to appear based on their potential to enhance learning outcomes in computing courses. All papers will be fully refereed using a double blind reviewing process. All accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings.

Abraham Baldwin’s Evening and Off-Campus Programs seek to accommodate both traditional and non-traditional students through flexible programming designed to provide educational opportunities when and where students need them. Through the on-campus evening program a student may obtain one of eight different associate degrees entirely by attending classes at night. Several off-campus locations offer evening core curriculum classes from all 52 programs of study at the college. A student may attend classes on the Square at the Moultrie off-campus location and earn an associate degree either in education or business. In addition, through a cooperative agreement with Moultrie Technical College, students may acquire an associate of applied science degree in one of twenty-four different technical fields. Through a cooperative agreement with East Central Technical College, a student may earn an associate of applied science degree in one of nine different areas. ABAC also offers advanced degrees from area universities for Associate of Science graduates. The universities include Albany State University, Georgia Southwestern State University, Macon State College, University of Georgia, and Valdosta State University. The courses are delivered on the ABAC campus through lecture, distance learning, and on-line classes. These programs permit area residents to receive four-year and graduate degrees without leaving the ABAC campus.

Welcome to the ACE Website
Agent-based computational economics (ACE)
is the computational study of economic processes modeled as dynamic systems of interacting agents. Here "agent" refers broadly to a bundle of data and behavioral methods representing an entity constituting part of a computationally constructed world. Examples of possible agents include individuals (e.g., consumers, producers), social groupings (e.g., families, firms, communities, government agencies), institutions (e.g., markets, regulatory systems), biological entities (e.g., crops, livestock, forests), and physical entities (e.g., infrastructure, weather, and geographical regions). Thus, agents can range from active data-gathering decision makers with sophisticated learning capabilities to passive world features with no cognitive function. Moreover, agents can be composed of other agents, permitting hierarchical constructions. Current ACE research divides roughly into four strands differentiated by objective.
