Filed under: Product Review DxO Optics Pro . I was attracted by the fact that this software is the only product on the market that offers automated correction for optical vignetting, chromatic aberration (both lateral as well as purple fringing), pincushion and barrel distortion. It also reduces noise, corrects for lens softness and acts as a RAW converter too. Comments (0)

Irish poet and novelist. Born in Dublin, where he was sent to an orphanage as a child, he later moved to London as a full-time writer in 1924. His work first came to wide attention through the success of his prose fantasy The Crock of Gold (1912). His later publications include Songs from the Clay The Demi-Gods (1914), and Reincarnations (1917). Many of his works drew on his enormous knowledge of Irish history, myth, and legend. Stephens's first publication was a volume of poems, Insurrections (1909), followed by his first novel, The Charwoman's Daughter (1912), which described poverty in the Dublin slums. His Collected Poems were first published in 1926, and revised in 1954.

    INTRODUCTION
    Biographical Information
Little is known of Stephens's childhood and youth, other than that he was born in Dublin and that he claimed to share the exact birth date as James Joyce, down to the hour. Between 1896 and 1912 Stephens worked as a typist for a Dublin solicitor and published his first short story by 1907. His early publications drew the attention of AE, who became his mentor and one of his closest friends. In 1912 Stephens published the novel The Crock of Gold. This was followed by a prolific outpouring of poetry and short stories, and by 1913 he was a regular contributor to The Nation.

My Daddy My Dad , Where would I begin to tell about him? I know that everyone thinks they had the greatest Dad , so I will be another one added to that list. Daddy and Momma DaddyMomma and little James My Dad left us on Wednesday, December 26,2001 @ 10:35 a.m. That was the hardest day of my life.We had all prayed that he would get to spend one last Christmas with us and I do believe he hung in there just for us.We knew he was tired of fighting and that he must go soon ,but you see when it came to gifts and presents there was no bigger child than my Dad. We all had him spoiled instead of him spoiling us,always one was going to get him something better than the other. But we all enjoyed to see his face unwrapping any gift, because he was just that special to us. My Daddy and me Daddy and his little buddy My Dad fought for breathe for the past 10 years,he was diagnosed with emphazyma and C.O.P.D. in 1975,he fought a good fight.Only the last 2 to 3 years were the toughest. He was a very stought man ,but yet the biggest teddy bear around.I wonder every day how I will get up the next morning and not be able to see him. There is no way to describe what kind of man he was except by saying to know him was to love him.He always had a story to tell or a prank to pull on you,no matter how many times the story was told it only got better and was never boring.

REFERENCE LINKS PRINT EMAIL Stephens, James Stephens, James (1882?-1950), was an Irish author. He was regarded chiefly as a poet, but his best-known work is the novel The Crock of Gold (1912), which gained him his first literary recognition. This story of a leprechaun is an original blend of fantasy, humor, and realism. Like much of Stephens' other writing, The Crock of Gold draws on Irish legend and folklore. His fiction and poetry have been described as sentimental, playful, and filled with whimsy. However, modern critics have also praised their subtle irony and satire.
