By Stanton Friedman
Incredible claims have been made about Bob Lazar for years. He supposedly is a physicist with an MS in Physics from MIT and an MS in Electronics from the California Institute of Technology. He was a "Scientist" for Los Alamos National Laboratory, and obtained a job back-engineering UFOs at a very secret site at Area 51 in Nevadathrough Dr. Edward Teller.
Supposedly he figured out how saucers work using Element 115 matter/anti-matter, etc. He was able to steal a small quantity of 115 from the 500 pounds available, but this was stolen back. He came forward with his story despite death threats because he thought the public has a right to know. Videotapes are available with his claims. It is all BUNK.

I guess the first order of business is to figure out what teams to include. The obvious ones are- American League: Yankees Red Sox White Sox Tigers Athletics Indians And I guess we will be combining Twins/Senators and Orioles/Browns. For all those great Browns players. National League: Dodgers Giants Cardinals Reds Cubs Pirates Phillies Braves The job seems to be to figure out wether or not to include the following teams: Blue Jays, Rangers, Angels, Mariners, Royals, Mets, Expos/Nationals, Brewers, Padres, I would say Colorado, Arizona, Florida and needless to say Tampa Bay haven't had the history to include them. But I guess we could include Florida which has had two World Series titles and Colorado which has had some players with great seasons. Open to discussion?

    ... The 10 Best Children's Movies
Read Advice Write an essay on this topic. My top 10 Children’s movies that both children and adults can enjoy.
    Apr 27 '06 (Updated Jun 10 '06)
The Bottom Line Some of my favorite children's movies.
The list is not necessarily based on what the best movies for children are but more on what my son and I both enjoy watching together. You will not see baby Einstein, Thomas the train, or Sesame Street.
One of the biggest factors in picking these movies were that they captured my imagination, gave me a sense of freedom, had a good flow throughout the movie, and gave me the desire that I wanted to be a part of the movie. The other requirement is these movies have to be liked by my son as well as myself. These are the top ten movies we would both enjoy watching together.

Classic film eras tend to get recognized in retrospect while we take for granted timeless works passing before our eyes. So let's pause to appreciate what's been going on at Pixar Animation Studios.
The Pixar group has made five computer-animated features: "Toy Story," "A Bug's Life," "Toy Story 2," "Monsters, Inc." and now "Finding Nemo." All of them are high quality, and I'd guess that each one, with the possible exception of "A Bug's Life," will be viewed decades later the way we now revere the classic Disney pictures.
Yes, the technology has improved from movie to movie - "Toy Story" looks stiff and flat compared with the vibrant images of "Finding Nemo" - but that's not the point. What's remarkable is how Pixar, under the leadership of John Lasseter (who directed the first three Pixar features and executive-produced "Finding Nemo"), has maintained such a consistent artistic vision and standard of writing. The movies may be made up of pixels, but the filmmaking springs from the minds and hearts of gifted storytellers. No computer could create such indelible characters as Buzz Lightyear and Woody; Mike Wazowski and Sully; and now, Marlin, Nemo and Dory.
Each feature exists in its own beautifully realized, fully populated world. "Finding Nemo," directed by "A Bug's Life" co-director Andrew Stanton (who has received a writing credit on each Pixar feature), mostly takes place in the ocean between the Great Barrier Reef and the coast of Sydney, and the scenery is as colorful and breathtaking as you're likely to see on any scuba-diving trip.

Legacy Homer and the gang take home animated television honors for the 11th consecutive year at the 31st Annual Annie Awards.
Sweeping all nine categories it was nominated in, the Disney/Pixar collaboration Finding Nemo proved to be the big winner at the 31st annual Annie Awards. Fox's long-running The Simpsons also had a strong showing at the ceremony, held Saturday night, walking off with four awards in the television categories. Nemo took the prizes for animated feature, feature directing, feature writing and music, among others, as well as the award for feature voice performance for Ellen DeGeneres as the voice of Dory. The film earned a total of twelve nominations, receiving multiple nods in the effects and character animation categories.
For the 11th year in a row, Gracie Films' The Simpsons was honored as animated television series of the year. In addition, the series earned accolades for directing in a television series, writing and for music.

    Hugo Nominations

    Best Novel (462 ballots)
I have no idea what's going on here: clearly it was 'vote like a crazy person 'day when the Hugo ballots went out. Singularity Sky is good, but not really Hugo material, and Humans didn't even rate a mention in the Locus recommended reading list. I'm going mostly on reviews here, but I get the impression that the only one of the five that really deserves its place is Ilium ; maybe also Blind Lake , but that's it. Interesting that neither Quicksilver nor Pattern Recognition got a nomination.
    Best Novella (215 ballots)
I've read four of the five - the only one I've missed is Asaro's. It's not a bad list, but I would have said two ('Empress of Mars' and 'Just Like The Ones We Used To Know') are a bit lightweight, and would have preferred to see William Barton's 'Off On A Starship' and/or Charlie Stross' 'Curator' up there instead. Still, Vinge will probably take this, and it won't be undeserved.
    Best Novelette (243 ballots)
Now, this is more like it! A seriously strong category, even allowing for the fact that I haven't read Jay Lake's offering. 'Empire of Ice Cream', 'Bernardo's House' and 'Hexagons' are all excellent; I'd personally give the nod to 'Hexagons' for mixing up alternate history
