    The Iron Dream is an alternate history novel, the bulk of which consists of a fictional fantasy classic entitled Lord of the Swastika , written by one Adolf Hitler , who in the novel is a writer rather than a demagogue . The remainder of the book is critical commentary on the text. According to an article attributed to Spinrad the book was banned for eight years in Germany, but was finally exonerated after appeals. More accurately, the sale of the book was permitted but the public display of the book or its covers was prohibited because of the swastika symbol.

In a small hut on the slopes of the volcano Popocateptl, scholar and poet Alvaro de Sevilla reflects on his extraordinary life. For Alvaro was one of the small army of conquistadors who, some years earlier, set out to conquer an empire. Hernando Cortes was proclaimed a reincarnation of the god Quetzacoatl shortly after his arrival in the New World, and he took advantage and forced his way to the capital city. There he met Montezuma, the Aztec Emperor, who at first welcomed the conquistadors to his city, showering them with gold. But it was an encounter between two civilizations that could only end in chaos, death, and destruction. showPanel(document.getElementById('lnk_Summary'), 'Summary');

    Mathieu Carriere, Jacques Dorfmann, and I are co-producing a film adaptation of my short novel VAMPIRE JUNKIES, starring Mathieu Carriere as Count Dracula. Jerome Lefdup has made a short presentation video. The novella itself is available from Fictionwise, see link further below. We've got the cast, the director, the script, and so forth and are ready to go. But we've still got some room left for a few more investors. If you're interested, you can contact me at the email link directly above.
    un lanzamiento especial
    En inglespardon my English
    It would exhaust my meager Spanish to tell this. I went to Mexico for the launch of MEXICA there, and it was quite fantastic and wonderful. A launch event which you can see via the above link to the special web site Ediciones B has set up for the book. Over 30 interviews, large intitial printing. Ads, banners, actual billboards! However well this all does or does not do, Ediciones B did everything that a writer wants a publisher to do, and did it right. Wonderful warm people doing their things with more professionalism and panache than anything I've ever seen (or for that matter heard of) in the US. MUCHAS GRACIAS, AMIGOS!

    AUTOBIOGRAPHY by Norman Spinrad
    FRAME
    Although it presents certain technical difficulties, maybe you shouldn't write an autobiography until you are dead.
    The story of a life, even if your own, published for the benefit of readers, becomes, well, a story. And true or not, a good story requires, if not necessarily a traditional beginning, middle and end, then at least certainly some sort of structure leading to a sense of satisfying resolution at the end of the reading experience.
    But since I'm 53 years old as I write this, not exactly on the brink of retirement, I can hardly be expected to bring this story to a successful thematic closure in any of the usual manners.
    Then too, while "write what you know about" may be the hoariest of literary maxims and autobiography seemingly the ideal exemplar thereof, upon a moment's uncomfortable reflection, maybe not.

    Spinrad, Norman. The druid king, a novel
    Kliatt Jan, 2005 by Donna Scanlon SPINRAD, Norman. The druid king, a novel. Random House, Vintage. 411p. map. c2003.0-375-72496-6. $14.00. SA The Druid King tells the story of the Gallic chieftain, Vercingetorix, who united the tribes of Gaul against the Roman invasion led by Julius Caesar. The novel begins as Caesar sets his sights on Gaul, a land governed by separate tribes, each with its own territory. Part of his initial scheme involves co-opting a Druid from one of the tribes and manipulating the downfall of Vercingetorix's father, Keltill, a man who wishes to unite Gaul under one leader. When Keltill is captured and condemned to death, Vercingetorix takes refuge with the Druids until he is ready to emerge and face his destiny.

    16. The Templeton Gate - Authors - Norman Spinrad
    A lengthy biography and commentary by Galen Strickland on this controversial American science fiction writer.
    http://templetongate.tripod.com/spinrad.htm
    Profiled by Galen Strickland Norman Richard Spinrad
    born in New York, he has also lived in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and London, and currently resides in Paris, France. Along with Harlan Ellison , he was perhaps the most controversial American component of SF's New Wave movement of the mid-to-late '60s, and if such an idea is conceivable, has probably irritated and offended as many readers and critics as has Ellison. Never a major success, he has however been popular within the SF community, serving on two different occasions as the president of the SFWA , and also as president of the World SF Council shortly after his most recent move to Europe. Photo by Susan Oristaglio While relatively unknown in the U. S. outside of the genre, he has a very strong following in literary circles throughout Europe. Many of his novels fall within the mainstream, and he has relied heavily on semi-autobiographical reminiscences for some of his most controversial stories. At best, the majority of his work should be considered fabulations of near-future possibilities, rather than be constricted within the confines of science fiction. More on these points later. He graduated from City College of New York in 1961, obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in pre-law. He had begun writing during his senior year there, although it would be two years later before his first story saw print, "The Last of the Romany" in
