An Answer to the World, for putting in print a Book in 1804, called Copies and Parts of Copies of Letters and Communications, Written from Joanna Southcott, and transmitted by Miss Townley to Mr. W. Sharp in London. Beginning with the Parable of the Little Flock of Sheep: in which reasons are given, in answer to the mockery and ridicule of men, for printing the Parables and Fables, which were published from Divine Command in that Book.

Scottish novelist. His romantic tales published under the pseudonym Fiona Macleod were reminiscent of Ossian and played an important part in the Celtic revival. They include Pharais, a Romance of the Isles The Mountain Lovers 1895, and The Sin-Eater and Other Tales Sharp was born in Paisley, Strathclyde, and studied at Glasgow University. He travelled widely, ending his days in Sicily. The Human Inheritance , a volume of his verse, appeared 1882 and Sospiri di Roma Wives in Exile 1898 and Silence Farm 1899, and edited Lyra Celtica 1896, an anthology of Celtic poetry. hut(1)

Original cloth, uncut. London: Elliot Stock, 1884. First edition. Sharp's first book of poems. NCBEL III, 1065. Presentation copy, inscribed by the author on the title-page: "To D.M. Main in memory of a pleasant hour. William Sharp Jan: '85." With two quotes in the author's hand, the first on verso of the half-title, reading: "'There are so many kinds of voices in the world, and none of them is without signification.' St. Paul." The second quote appears opposite page [163], and reads: "'For, God wot, not the less a thing is true, Though every wight may not if chance to see.' Chaucer." Covers lightly worn; small stain on upper front board, else a very good copy. Sharp dedicated this book (p. [iii]) " . . . in high esteem and in personal regard to my friend, Walter H. Pater . . . ."

Can anyone tell me where I can find a list of the men who died in Pennsylvania in the Seven Years War/French Indian war? Wiliam Sharp, is supposed to have died in 1755 near pPittsburg, Penn. leaving wife Mary(Ayers) Sharp and at least two children, Issac and John. Mary later m. a John Wilson.
Have looked for a long time for this inf. and any help would be so appreciated.
