John Fowles Erich Segal John Updike Kurt Vonnegut Toni Morrison John Fowles Literature was big during the 1970’s. One of the great writers during the 1970’s was a man by the name John Fowles. While in college he was promoted to general in World War 2 but before he could get any action the war was over. Fowles returned to college and studied French Leaders. Fowles decided to learn more about the French leaders. They influenced him to write novels. Fowles wrote a major novel called The French Lieutenants Women. That book later turned into a successful movie. Fowles then published a series of poems based upon nature and the world. Fowles also rewrote Cinderella in French. John Fowles contributed a lot during 1970’s. He worked really hard to write good books. He gave the people of the 1970’s a new point of interest. Instead of worrying about the tough times, people would read books to relax and settle in. John Fowles was a great writer. For more information visit: http://www.fowlesbooks.com/
