St. Paul's Anglican Church, Prescott, AZ
The Rev. Peter D. Robinson
Fr. Robinson came to St. Paul's, Prescott in November 2002. He was born in Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire, England, and grew up in the nearby town of Barton-upon-Humber. He was baptized into the Church of England as an infant but did not begin attending Church regularly until he was fifteen. He became active in his local Church of England parish singing in the church choir on Sundays and serving at the Eucharist on weekdays.
After leaving High School, Fr. Robinson read history and theology at the College of Ripon and York St. John, North Yorkshire, graduating Bachelor of Arts (Honours) of the University of Leeds in June 1991. Although Fr. Robinson had a predominantly "modern" Anglo-Catholic background, he served as a lay pastoral assistant in a liberal Evangelical Church of England parish in London, which he describes as being "an interesting experience." Following the vote to ordain women in the Church of England (11/11/1992), Peter left the Church of England worried by the exclusively "liberal" outlook of the leadership of his home diocese, and skeptical of theological validity of the "two integrities" theory being propounded to keep traditional Catholics and Conservative Evangelicals in the Church of England. He was received into the Anglican Catholic Church on Trinity Sunday 1993, and was shortly afterwards accepted as a postulant for Holy Orders.
Fr. Robinson has also took an active role in the administration of the A.C.A. Diocese of the West prior to his transfer to the United Episcopal Church. He was Area Dean of Arizona 2003 - 2007; President of the Diocesan Standing Committee (2003 - 2007); a member of the Board of Examining Chaplains (2001 - 2007), and President of the Diocesan House of Clergy (2001-2006). His interests include model railroading, British and American history, classical music, traditional Scottish and Irish music, church architecture, and Church history - especially the English Reformation and the High Church and Evangelical Movements in the eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries. He is a member of the Priestly Fraternity of St. Martin, Prayer Book Society, and Forward in Faith.

He fought in and survived the Battle of Britain but was killed the following year, on the 17th June 1941. Peter is buried in St Andrews Churchyard, North Weald. After training Peter joined 56 Squadron at North Weald on 25 th July 1940. When he first tried to join the RAFVR he was not accepted as unfortunately he had a very bad stammer. In the 11 months before the war through many months of dedicated effort he had managed to cure his stammer through swapping everything from his right hand to his left hand. This he did meticulously down to the last detail. He was accepted by the RAFVR for training from the beginning of the war and obtained his wings by 1940. As Sgt. Robinson he flew a Hurricane all the way through the Battle of Britain. Peter was born on 13 th Peter was educated at Harrow County Grammar School and obtained a matriculation certificate at the age of 16. He was a member of the army cadet force and as an athlete represented the school under 15's. He started work as a trainee in the wool business in the Midlands (Vestey Organization). He was a member of the Crusader Bible Class and was much interested in Mission work. On a bicycling holiday in 1937 through the Black Forest he returned fully believing Germany The Robinson family before the war Our younger brother Gordon was still at school, but after Peter's death he altered his birth certificate and joined the RAF in 1942. He too was a Fighter Pilot, briefly flying Hurricanes with 56 Squadron, then with 602 City of Glasgow Squadron flying Spitfires then Mustangs. Eventually he crashed on take-off near Norwich. His plane had been fitted with extra fuels tanks to enable it to fly further into Germany (Autumn 1944). He broke his back and had 14 crushed lumbar vertebrae and was in a plaster cast for 14 months. Most unexpectedly he lived until he was 70, although suffering poor health. He married Nan Roberton of Glasgow who he met at the

A Peter Robinson Rock 'n' Roll Whodunit Amps It Up

By JANET MASLIN Published: May 29, 2006 Much has been said about the intensity of the racket made by Led Zeppelin in concert. Now Peter Robinson has a new angle. In "Piece of My Heart," a book partly pegged to a 1969 British outdoor rock festival, a young woman is found dead in her sleeping bag. Detectives determine that she died during the set played by Led Zeppelin, the top act on a bill that also included Pink Floyd. Why this timing? Perhaps because the music was so loud that no one could hear her scream. Skip to next paragraph Marion Ettlinger Peter Robinson

'The equation of Fag Time is simple - things you smoke or eat go in, unspeakable shiny, viscous things come out. Like a bacteria cell on a TV ad for bleach, the large ball with the Cyclopean eye and lungs like old boot soles draws desperately on an equally globular rollie - two decomposing grey spheres leaking, seeping, suppurating, spreading squid-like in a splatter of smoke, tar, bile, vomit, something excremental along the way.'
Writer Sally Blundell's above description of Peter Robinson's Fag Time 1 captures the intense physical presence of the work. Robinson, a former cigarette smoker, presents us with a cautionary warning. Two large blobs squat on the floor: made from chicken wire, papier mache and polyurethane foam; their grey lumpy surfaces form a lunar landscape. Elongated trails of excrement drip from the blobs, sprawling across the floor. Like a left-over prop from a 'Just Say NO' presentation

Emigration From Cork Ireland to Upper Canada, 1823 The First Peter Robinson Settlers
by
Roberta M. O'Brien
Updated July 11, 2001 Disturbances in North Cork, 1822 In 1822, the northern part of County Cork was on the verge of an agrarian revolt. The secret Whiteboy society was revived and began to terrorize landowners, magistrates and tithe collectors. This outbreak of violence had several causes. The post-Napoleonic-war depression and several years of a poor potato crop had resulted in much poverty and evictions of tenant farmers. The "last straw" was the introduction of the Composition Act, 1823 which required the payment of tithes in cash rather than in kind. The tithes were a form of tax which supported the Church of Ireland (Anglican) clergy and were collected from everyone including poor, mostly Catholic, tenant farmers. The local officials reacted to the situation in a typically harsh fashion and many young men were arrested and transported to Australia, in some cases, for the simple crime of being out at night after the curfew. The British government thought that sending surplus evicted farmers and other people in poor circumstances to the colonies might ease the situation and prevent an all-out rebellion. Emigration to Upper Canada The government decided to give poor people from north Cork free land grants in Upper Canada (now Ontario) to encourage them to leave Ireland and lead a settled and peaceful farm life in the Canadian backwoods. This emigration scheme had the added benefit of filling up the "empty" land in the colony of Upper Canada. Settlers from Britain (including Ireland) were especially welcomed to boost the population and form the backbone of a loyal militia which could defend the land against the Americans in case they should invade Canada again.

This is part of a collection of photographs taken by Peter Robinson during the late Sixties and early Seventies. Personalities photographed include Graham Hill, Jackie Stewart, Jim Clark, Colin Chapman, John Surtees, Lorenzo Bandini, Denis Jenkinson, Hannu Mikkola, Simo Lampinen, Timo Makinen and others, all of whose memories and reputations have lasted to this day. Some of the photographs are unique in that they were captured at private testing sessions where there was no Press presence. Some were taken whilst spectating, in positions and situations that would be impossible to experience today whilst others were taken on specific events where participation prevented more typical action shots. The result is a collection of personal memories from a period of Club and International Motor Sport that has emerged as one of the most interesting and relevant in Motor Sport history given today's public fascination with historic racing and rallying. Alan Banks - Detective Chief Inspector, Yorkshire, England
"Strange Affair"
(Reviewed by Jana L. Perskie JUN 4, 2006) Although Strange Affair Apparently, in the previous book, Playing With Fire , (which I just ordered), Banks' idyllic cottage in the Yorkshire Dales, as well as all of his possessions, were burned to the ground by an arsonist, including his extensive CD collection. It's a well known fact amongst Banks aficionados that he is a music lover of some discrimination. Banks was home at the time the crime was committed, sleeping. If his ex-lover and colleague DI Annie Cabbott, along with DC Winsome Jackman had not pulled him from the flames, I would not be reviewing Strange Affair . Banks is presently living in a rented flat near the remnants of his home, supervising its reconstruction and convalescing.
