Introduction
This page collects criticisms of various books I've read. Most but not all of the books reviewed here are science fiction and fantasy, i.e. so-called speculative ficton . I decided not to impose a separation along genre lines, mainly because there are no clearcut boundaries, and publishers often mark a book with whatever they expect to make it sell better. Contrary to net custom, I didn't include any bibliographical information. Nowadays, specific editions of a book stay in print only for a short time, some books I pick up used, there are different publishers for different countries, there are hardcover, trade, and paperback editions, or you might want to read the book in (a different) translation. In short, giving information on a particular edition doesn't make that much sense. Of course you can always ask me which particular edition I reviewed.
