All three may not seem obviously related, but there is something they all share: large user numbers. From a developers or startups view, the fattening long tail should be seen for what it is: a marketplace that has improved opportunities for smart startups. A bigger marketplace makes today and tomorrow an even better time to build a Web 2.0 business than yesterday. A fatter long tail means that as a whole there will be an increasing number of success stories and sustainable startups, a win-win all round. His teenage years were dripping with the usual Seventies mash of AC/DC, Billy Thorpe, Neil Young, Jackson Browne, The Skyhooks and Donna Summer, and, on the teev, GTK, Countdown, Nightmoves and Sounds Unlimited. He admits freely to a penchant then for Golden Breed shirts, Hobbytex tees, brown cords and Dunlop volleys. He itched to leave the suburbs behind, and take a stab at the musical half-life. The decade tumbled over, rumours of war filled the air, and Nick Cave appeared on Countdown. HKPRO SPECIAL FEATURE: Errors in Duncan Long's Book "HK Assault Rifle Systems" HK ASSAULT RIFLE SYSTEMS AN ANALYSIS OF THE "FACTS." By HKPRO 1/15/98 (Updated slightly 2/99 and 11/2001) Duncan Long is a prolific writer who specializes in the kinds of books that are on sale at gun shows. Not real high quality, but he really filled a niche with this book, and was very astute marketing on his part. There are tons of us HK fans out there, and we all want to read about our favorite guns. Just not much to read. So this is the most widely available book, and it really is good overall. He does a great job of explaining how American LEGAL machine gun ownership works, and examples of the main Class II manufacturers' wares. I am less than impressed with the editing and typesetting in this work. Bear in mind that most of what Duncan writes about in this book is taken directly from HK catalogs and promotional literature that was provided to him by HK. This post is to point out some of the factual errors that I am aware of. I won't get them all, and I may be wrong myself. Be forewarned. If anyone who discovers any errors on my part can correct me, I would appreciate it greatly. I publish this not to try to dissuade you from buying Duncan's book. All in all it is a must have for a serious HK aficionado. Where possible, I will add facts that I think are interesting too.

Kootenai County public defender John Adams filed motions to request that the trial date be moved from April 4 to November because of the heavy workload his office is under and the "complexity" of the case against Duncan, accused of killing three people so that he could kidnap Shasta and Dylan Groene. "Forcing Mr. Duncan to go forward without adequate time to prepare will deprive him of his federal and Idaho Constitutional rights to the effective assistance of counsel, to prepare a defense and to basic fairness and due process," Adams wrote. Adams also asked the judge to rule that Idaho's ban on the insanity defense is unconstitutional. He asked that the trial be delayed until after the U.S. Supreme Court rules on a similar Nevada law that bans insanity as a defense. That ruling is expected in June.

Recent Accident Summaries Obtain and Submit an Accident Report Long Form Short Form 2007/ 2008 Accident Summaries Date Location Incident Description/Summary Submitted By Link Lake Twenty-two trail near Mt Pilchuck, north-central WA Cascades Group of seven young hikers and one adult were apparently on or near the Lake Twenty-two trail when four of the party were caught by an avalanche. The lake itself is at the base of several steep cliffs and chutes (the Pilchuck Cliffs) which frequently avalanche. Details of the avalanche are currently not available but the slide partially buried three (one self extricated and two were dug out) and totally buried a fourth who died. NWAC Excelsior Pass below Church Mt,, northern WA Cascades Group of five snowmobilers high marking in the Excelsior Pass area triggered a large 5-6 ft deep slab. The avalanche caught five, partly burying three, totally burying and killing two. Victims reportedly found by beacon under three and six feet of snowone machine was reported reduced to pieces.
