McFarlin Library. University of Tulsa. 2933 E. 6th st. Tulsa, OK. 74104-3123 (OKT - OkTU) David Emery Gascoyne papers Collection no. 1985-001 The David Emery Gascoyne papers, housed in five document boxes, are arranged into three series: SERIES I: Correspondence; SERIES II: Writings; and SERIES III: Miscellaneous.
SERIES I: Correspondence consists of letters between friends, colleagues, publishers, educational institutions and broadcast services, and is arranged alphabetically. Following the alphabetical sequence of correspondence are groups of letters, labeled by Gascoyne as “British painter friends,” “British poet contemporaries,” and “Literary friends and acquaintances;” these letters are signed with first name only and have been left in their original order until they can be accurately identified. The correspondence dates from 1954 through 1985.
SERIES II: Writings consist of autograph and typescript drafts of articles, essays, poetry, radio scripts, and French/English translations of works by other authors. Also included in this series are 15 notebooks containing drafts of many of the same types of writings, as well as a scrapbook filled with press cuttings of appearances of Gascoyne’s articles and reviews of his work by others. The writings are arranged alphabetically by title and are followed by the notebooks. A brief inventory of the contents of each notebook is included in the inventory.

Away Vs Woodside B, 25th November 2007 Team : Aiden - Kieran Woodhouse , Chris Botwood, David Wood (Captain), Ben Mills, Michael Puddifoot, Luke Moore, Paul O’Brien, Daniel Gascoyne, Jack Sayers, David Allen, Subs : Adam Baker and Kerry Felton. Sunday afternoon found the team lining up on a pitch next to the Leighton Buzzard Narrow Gauge Railway – one of the more notable locations in this team’s away history. To make it more interesting there was a decent slope on the pitch and some large overhanging tree branches to deflect skyward balls. The stiff south westerly wind made sure players and spectators were not fooled by the hazey sunshine into thinking winter may not be so bad after all. Sam told the boys to forget the ladder standings and to go out and play as hard as they would against the best. It was pretty obvious after the first few minutes that our attackers would be busy for the next 80 minutes, while the defenders may have been regretting not wearing an extra layer. We had most of the possession and moved the ball around nicely, but it looked like the finishing might be more of a problem. A bout of heading ping pong resulted in Paul having the first shot on goal from outside the box (wide). Shortly after, a nice interception by Danny was flicked on to Woody who found Ben who almost got David through the defence. Passes from the midfield to Ben were enabling him to unleash his trademark scorching runs down the right flank and fire the ball inside towards David and Jack, but with no result until the 10

From the 1820s to the middle of the century there was a craze for literary annuals and gift books. These offered the reader stories, travel sketches, and poems illustrated with steel engravings. Among the authors we find such names as Wordsworth and Coleridge, and behind such epithets as “The author of Waverley” and “The author of Frankenstein” lie hidden Sir Walter Scott and Mary Shelley. We have collected a wide range of these. They were available in a variety of styles. On display is a large-paper set of
