I am trying to tie these men together. Daniel was Rev. John Gano's son. Daniel was married the 2nd time to Jemima Robinson...they had a son named Samuel. Samuel was married to a Mariah Mullin or Mullen... They had a son named Thomas. Thomas was married to a Cindarella Wells. They had a son named Wilbur. Wilbur married a Mary Elizabeth Keys or Kays. Wilbur was born in Ohio. Somewhere along the line; I suspect with Samuel, they moved from Kentucky to Ohio. I have no idea where in Ohio. Does anyone have info on this line of Gano's? I have a listing of some, most or all children of Daniel, Samuel, Thomas and Wilbur. Anyone with any information can reach me at KADENABRAT@aol.com.
Any help connecting this bunch would be greatly appreciated.

    LINCOLN (Samuel)
This information is extracted from the book The History of the Town of Hingham Massachusetts, The Genealogies written by George Lincoln, originally published 1893. See the introduction to this site. Comments on this page may be sent to Don Stanwyck LINCOLN - Introduction This surname, variously written Linkhorn, Linklon, Loncon, etc., upon early documents, was a common one in Hingham, Norfolk County, England, for more that a century before our ancestors first came to New England; and the same names which occur here appear quite frequently among the baptisms registered upon the records of St. Andrew's Church in old Hingham. There can scarcely be a doubt, therefore, but that the surname Lincoln originated in Norfolk County, England; while it is more than probable, judging from a recent examination of St. Andrew's Church records, that the place of their abode prior to the seventeenth century, with perhaps one exception, was at old Hingham. Among the earlier settlers of our Hing. were eight persons (males) of mature age bearing this surname, of whom mention is made upon the records of the town. These were, Daniel Lincoln the husbandman, who died unm. 3 Apr. 1644, and his brothers

    Daniel, Samuel
1562?-1619, English poet and historian. He was tutor to William Herbert, 3d earl of Pembroke, and later to Lady Anne Clifford. Eventually he found favor with James I, and in 1603 he was appointed inspector of the Children of the Queen's Revels (a company of boy actors), a position he held for the rest of his life. Daniel is known chiefly for Delia (1592), a collection of sonnets. His other poetry includes a narrative, The Complaint of Rosamund (1592), and a defense of learning, Musophilus (1599). Besides being the author of numerous court masques, he wrote two Senecan tragedies, Cleopatra (1594) and Philotas (1605). His ardent patriotism and his belief in a strong and absolute monarchy inspired his epic, The Civil Wars between the Two Houses of Lancaster and York (1595, enl. ed. 1609). Defence of Rhyme (1603?) and a History of England (1631) are his major prose works. He was much admired by the 19th-century English romantics for his purity of diction.

    Daniel, Samuel
English poet, born near Taunton, Somersetshire, and educated at the University of Oxford. As master of the queen's revels at the court of James I, he wrote many masques. A meticulous writer who frequently revised and republished his works, Daniel achieved a purity of language and style. He believed devoutly in the monarchy, in the duty of a poet to moralize, and in the suitability of the English language for rhymed verse. Among his works are Delia (1592), a book of sonnets; the Defence of Rhyme (1602); a major prose history of England (1612-17); and his famous masque, Hymen's Triumph (1615).
