Caroline B. Cooney
During the year of 1947, Caroline Cooney was born in Old Greenwich, Connecticut. As soon as she could read she began to pick up novels and read during all of her free time. She read such series as Cherry Ames: Student Nurse and The Hardy Boys . She believes it was the character Cherry that inspired her to go into nursing school. During high school she learned to play piano. She also directed a choir and was a church organist. After high school she attended several colleges. She studied art, music, and English. It was then that she started her first books. Caroline B. Cooney's most famous books and only series is the Face On The Milk Carton . summary
Janie goes to school and during lunch she grabs her friend’s milk carton and sees this girl on the back who she thinks of it’s her.
She tells her friends who don’t believe her and she keeps the carton in a book and for weeks she is wondering if it’s her. After a while she goes to the attic and finds a box which has the name Hannah on it. She can’t believe that her parents kidnapped her but it is a fact that they don’t have any photos of her as a baby. The girl on the back of the carton was missing since she was three. Janie also has strange daymares with memories from long ago she doesn’t recognize.
So she decides to ask her parents about the box on the attic and the never taken child photos.
They explain that they are not her parents but her grandparents and that Hannah was their only daughter. Hannah joined a cult which made it impossible for her parents to see her again. They only wrote letters. In the cult Hannah had to marry a guy and apparently had a child because one day when she came home she carried a child with her. The cult tried to...

Hit the Road Caroline B. Cooney
I haven’t read a book by Caroline B. Cooney since... when? Middle school, at least. Hit the Road didn’t disappoint. I read it in one sitting, giggling throughout the first half, then squawking at Josh whenever he tried to talk to me during the tense second half. Brittany Anne Bowman (her friends call her Brit) only had her driver’s license for eleven days before getting dumped at her grandmother’s house for two weeks with no car while her parents head off for an Alaskan vacation. So much for summer vacation. Or. So. She. Thought. (You can insert some creepy/foreboding horror movie music here, although it isn't really that kind of book. But a line like that just calls for it.) Brit doesn’t even make it into her grandmother’s house before a rental van pulls in turns out that her grandmother has big plans for the next week or so. Briefly, the plan is: Drive from Connecticut to Long Island, pick up a college friend, drive to Massachusetts to break another one out of a nursing home who says she’s been put in against her will, then swing up to grab the fourth college buddy and head on up to Maine for their sixty-fifth college reunion. (There’s also a plan to stop off at a lawyer’s office to change the will of the incarcerated woman she says that her son faked the power of attorney documentation and that no, she does not have Alzheimer’s.)

My attention was first captured by the unique illustration on the cover of the book. Together with the title, it seemed to promise an interesting and adventurous story. The blurb made the book seem to be quite engrossing as well so I decided to read it. What do you like about this book/author?
The descriptions used were vivid and the emotions described were real. Some of the descriptions can even provide inspiration for readers to create their own forms of descriptions to use in their own writing. The carefully planned details in the story stir up sympathy towards the poor heroine and feelings of anger and dislike towards the antagonists. This story has no noticeable gaps and slips in the plot, giving the reader an opportunity to really sit down and enjoy the book.

Caroline B. Cooney - 1947 Greenwich By Jennifer Phillips Read another essay on Caroline B. Cooney by North Carolina student Dana Keck I. Upbringing, Education, Family and Professional Life Caroline B. Cooney was born May 10, 1947 in Old Greenwich, Connecticut. In Cooney's younger years, she was very involved in school and other activities. She played the piano, directed a choir, and had a job as a church organist at the age of fifteen. Cooney loved to read and she especially enjoyed reading the Hardy Boys and Cherry Ames . Reading influenced her life greatly, especially a character in Cherry Ames . Cooney got the idea of going to nursing school from the student nurse in this book. Cooney graduated from Greenwich High School in 1965 and moved onto her college years. Cooney went to Indiana University from 1965-1966. She later attended Massachusetts General Hospital of Nurses during the years of 1966 and 1967. Cooney also married in 1967 at the age of twenty. She joined the University of Connecticut in 1968 as a music major, although she did not complete this degree. She now has three children named Louisa, Sayre, and Harold. Later, she divorced her husband. Cooney loved to write and she did not find it a difficult task. She once stated, "I love writing and do not know why it is considered such a difficult, agonizing profession. I love all of it, thinking up the plots, getting to know the kids in the story, their parents, backyards, pizza toppings." Even though she loved writing, she had a rocky time starting her writing career. When Cooney wrote stories and sent them to the publishers, they always got returned. She finally got a story put into

This is the most ambitious novel I have read by Cooney, known for her ever-popular works like the series that starts with The Face on the Milk Carton. In this, she mines the Trojan War Trojan War, characters and events, concentrating on Helen and Paris, as seen by a young girl, Anaxandra. Other major characters are those from the legend: Andromache Andromache , in Greek mythology, Trojan princess, wife of Hector Hector, in Greek mythology, leader and greatest hero of the Trojan troops during the Trojan War. He was the eldest son of Priam Priam , in Greek mythology, king of Troy during the Trojan War, son of Laomedon. Priam had several wives and was the father of 50 sons and many daughters. His chief wife, Hecuba, bore him 19 children, including Hector, Paris, Polyxena, Helenus, Cassandra, Troilus, Creusa, Polydorus, and Deiphobus. and Hecuba, the husband of Andromache, and the father by her of Astyanax. Are you interested in reading a good mystery? If you are, then you will be intrigued by the book Wanted by Carolyn B. Cooney. Alice received a phone call from her father. He wanted her to take the car now and go to their favorite ice cream shack. Alice didn't know what to think. That was not like her father. Why would he ask her to take the car and drive without a license? Something had to be wrong, but what? Even though Alice knew she wasn't supposed to drive, she changed her clothes so she would be dressed appropriately to meet her father. After Alice was ready to go, she heard someone coming in the front door. She was about to holler for her dad, but she stopped when she heard the intruder talking to someone or himself. She knew it wasn't her father. Alice went to the garage and scooted underneath the Corvette to hide. Alice became frightened and wondered if the intruder was going to find her. If he did, what was going to happen to her?
