BLOND? WE NEED YOU!
I still need to photograph a guy with spikey blond hair with somewhat puckish features. 25 to 35, generally. If you fit that description and would like a small photographic part in a short movie called Shriek, please email me ASAP: vanderworld at hotmail.com. Please include a photo if possible with your query.
Thanks!

FLOTSAM ME JETSAM
Contrary to reports in certain quarters, I am not dead, just busy. But here are a few things to keep ya occupied this morning.
First off, Luis Rodrigues has been working on the Portuguese translation of "Secret Life" (translated as "Vida secreta"), "Transformation of Martin Lake," and a couple of others for a very short book from Livros de Areia. Er

65. Ramsey Campbell Interview - Infinity Plus Non-fiction
David Mathew talks to top horror author ramsey campbell.

An Interview with Ramsey Campbell
by David Mathew Ramsey Campbell has been publishing horror fiction for over thirty years. He is the most respected living horror writer, with more awards for his work than any other writer in the field. His dark, brooding, psychological tales depend far more on the use of atmosphere and suggestion - showing only what needs to be shown - than they do on the use of pages of blood and gore. Regarded as a serious artist, he has been called the Horror Writer's Horror Writer. His latest novels ( The House on Nazareth Hill appeared in paperback in 1997) have received some of his best ever reviews. The following interview took place at his home in Wallasey in England, where he lives with his wife and two children. David Mathew: I'd like to start by throwing back at you a quote that you made twenty years ago. "The horror story is one of the few popular forms that has not been cheapened; the only one which has retained the force of a cumulative tradition." How far do you still go along with that statement? Ramsey Campbell: I would almost contradict myself and say that for a while the field has been in danger of sinking under its own dross, basically. For instance, I used to co-edit

Anne Lewis: The Ship That Fell Like a Star
Billed as "a gripping fantasy adventure", this is an SF novel whose construction might well put off the intended young audience. Not once but twice, Anne Lewis works to get you interested in characters who then vanish from the story. Part one (42 pages) takes place on a space station orbiting the shrouded world Antor in some far solar system. When this seemingly boring project is shut down, our young hero and heroine eavesdrop on much secret skulduggery. Biowar arsenals! Gene-engineered "mutant" kids! Even a mad scientist, hellbent on destruction! Whatever will happen to them all? Part two (34 pages) begins over three centuries later, and soon leaps ahead a further 50 years. One of the former protagonists' distant descendants, now an old man, is hiding from a post-coup military dictatorship. There's time for entertaining shenanigans with searching soldiers outwitted by a cute kid and robot farm machinery, before Grandfather Dak escapes to investigate the interstellar signals that have intrigued him for decades. Yes, they're from that space station ...

The cast and crew of
The Book of Daniel ... Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
For director Len Wiseman and actress Kate Beckinsale, Underworld: Evolution was a labor of love
By Cindy White he original Underworld was the project of a lifetime for director Len Wiseman. Not only was it his first feature film, but it also brought him together with his future wife, star Kate Beckinsale. Though the film was only a modest success in the theater, it has steadily gained fans in its second life on DVD and cable. It was perhaps inevitable, then, that a sequel film should follow. Two years later, Wiseman's low-budget, high-concept brainchild has become a bona fide franchise. Underworld: Evolution , which opens on Jan. 20, reunites Wiseman with his on- and off-screen muse and the sleek alternate universe in which vampires and werewolves continue to wage war on one another. Scott Speedman also returns as Beckinsale's love interest, Michael Corvin, now a hybrid of vampire and lycan who may help bring the two enemies closer to peace. But the real key to ending the ancient hostilities is in the hands of Beckinsale's vampire warrior Selene. Last year
