Thursday, April 12, 2007 Prime Reaper, Charlotte Boyett-Compo digg_url="http://eroticreadings.blogspot.com/2007/04/prime-reaper-charlotte-boyett-compo.html"; A Well-Mixed Novel By JC Genzie The second ingredient that Boyett-Compo adds is her own personal spin on the vampire legend. Reapers are humans that have had hellions given to them, beings that give Reapers increased powers, stamina and healing abilities. But the hellions are not just helpful; they are self-aware beings in their own right with their own agendas. This creates problems for Arawn Gehdrin when he marries Danielle, a spunky woman who set her sights on Arawn, and kept chasing him until he caught her. The final ingredient that Boyett-Compo adds to the book is the one that gives the mixture its distinctive flavor. The love between Arawn and Danielle is what creates the conflict in the book, as they struggle through the first months of their marriage. Even though they love each other, Danielle and Arawn are both stubborn, and these traits cause them to clash as they fight over Danielle getting her own hellion. Meanwhile, an old enemy of the Reapers and their allies has come to wreck havoc upon their home world. As Arawn, leader of the Reapers, struggles with his comrades to beat back the threats against them, at the Reaper home base Danielle is struggling with the wives of the other Reapers to defend them against an unknown threat. | |
