He began writing as a young teenager and came to Hollywood when he was only 18. Though it took him a long time, eventually, in the late 1950s, Beaumont became a screenwriter. Unfortunately, he died after penning only nine films. He was killed by the lingering effects of the spinal meningitis he had suffered as a child. ~ Sandra Brennan, All Movie Guide

EON DE BEAUMONT CHARLES GENEVIEVE LOUISE AUGUSTE Andre Timothee D ' (1728-1810), commonly known as the Chevalier D 'EoN, French political adventurer, famous for the supposed mystery of his sex , was born near Tonnerre in Burgundy , on the 7th of October 1728. He was the son of an advocate of good position, and after a distinguished course of study at the College Mazarin he became a doctor of law by special dispensation before the usual age, and adopted his father's profession. He began literary work as a contributor to Freron's Annee litteraire, and attracted notice as a political writer by two works on financial and administrative questions, which he published in his twenty-fifth year. His reputation increased so rapidly that in 1 755 he was, on the recommendation of Louis Francois, prince of Conti, entrusted by Louis XV . (who had originally started his "secret" foreign policy - i.e. by undisclosed agents behind the backs of his ministers - in favour of the prince of Conti's ambition to be king of Poland) with a secret mission to the court of Russia . It was on this occasion that he is said for the first time to have assumed the dress of a woman, with the connivance, it is supposed, of the French court.' In this disguise he obtained the appointment of reader to the empress

Charles Leroy Nutt was born in 1929 in Chicago, IL. Like H.P. Lovecraft, Beaumont was brought up by some somewhat eccentric aunts, and like Lovecraft, Beaumont was the centre of and collaborator in a circle of fiction writers, that in his case included Ray Bradbury, George Clayton Johnson, Richard Matheson, William F. Nolan, Chad Oliver, Ray Russell, Jerry Sohl, and John Tomerlin. Besides his many contributions to Rod Serling's Twilight Zone , Beaumont is best remembered for his superb science fiction and horror short stories that appeared in 5 collections during his lifetime: The Hunger and Other Stories The Magic Man Night Ride and Other Journeys Yonder , and the anthology The Fiend in You which he edited. His career began with the sale, in September 1954, of the novella Black Country to Playboy , where he published another dozen short stories and essays. However, Beaumont did not restrict his writing to one genre. He wrote: (i) on cars and car racing, including 2 books with Nolan ( Omnibus of Speed When Engines Roar ); (ii) Walt Disney and other comic books (e.g.
