This article is taken from NEXUS New Times Magazine Dec - Jan 1993 Vol 2 #11 The Adams Pulsed Electric Motor Generator a free energy machine at last? THE REAL MCCOY After having his invention suppressed for over 20 years, Mr Adams, at the age 72, has decided to share his design with the world regardless of the consequences. Mr. Adams' quest to bring "free" energy to the world has cost him dearly as it has many other researchers who threaten to bring the "establishment" undone. He has survived an attempt on his life by an individual affiliated with the New Zealand Secret Intelligence Service and the Central Intelligence Agency, direct suppression of his invention by former (and recently deceased) Prime Minister of New Zealand, Robert Muldoon, the giant British electronics company, Lucus Industries, as well as numerous other insurmountable difficulties that have been placed in his path. All because his invention worked. And not only that, it is so simple, any electronics manufacturer or skilled backyard-home-scientist could build one.

Robert was buried on Tuesday 16th May in the Returned Services Section of Hillcrest Cemetery in Whakatane, New Zealand. Robert gave the better part of his life towards the endeavour of unlocking the secrets of free, clean energy. He will be greatly missed by family, friends, and peers. Sunlight, Lighting And Your Health [20 July 2003] The writer draws the attention to the common claim that fluorescent lights are more efficient than orthodox Edison light bulbs. It is true that fluorescent lamps are more efficient to the tune of some thirty to eighty per cent (30 - 80%) but at a high health risk cost. Having been involved with problems pertaining to these lights some many years ago, i.e., during the late 1950's... continue...

Robert Adams
Born Orange, New Jersey, 1937 'Still photographs often differ from life more by their silence than by the immobility of their subjects. Landscape pictures tend to converge with life, however, on summer nights, when the sounds outside, after we call in children and close garage doors, are small - the whir of moths, the snap of a stick.' Robert Adams Robert Adams is best known for his series of photographs that investigates urban encroachment into the landscape of the American West. In much of his work, Adams balances a sense of hope for Nature's persistence against despair with man's destruction of what was, until relatively recently, wilderness. He took the Summer Nights series along the eastern edge of the Rocky Mountains in Colorado, where he lives. The series leads the viewer outward from urban centres towards the rural plains and mountains, suggesting a walk out of town as the light fades. As the series title suggests, Adams took many of the photographs at night in summer, when twilight can extend into the whole night. Others, where electric lights are balanced - and even dwarfed - by the drama of darkening skies, were taken at actual twilight. Jump to main navigation bar Look at other sections: please select...

Since the late 1960s, Robert Adams has made landscapes of the American West that critically subvert the romantic conventions of American frontier photography. His images of tract housing and strip malls near Denver and Colorado Springs document suburban incursions into the previously pristine wilderness, capturing an ironic but sobering sense of confinement in an area known for its wide-open spaces.
A similar sense of sobriety informs "Turning Back: A Photographic Journey of Re-exploration," a series of 164 photographs inspired by the bicentennial celebration of Lewis and Clark's famed expedition through the Northwest Territory. Between 1999 and 2003, Adams partially retraced the explorers' route in reverse, beginning at the mouth of the Columbia River and traveling inland through the Cascade Mountains to the plains of eastern Oregon. An excerpt of images from his journey was chosen by the artist for this showing. Here, images of vast stretches of felled trees and portrait-like close-ups of violently uprooted stumps reveal the violence inflicted on ancient old-growth forests by timber companies, mostly within the past several decades.
These titles are available from the ICP store.

Robert Adams is a Professor Emeritus of Yale University. His 1973 paper “A Modified Divine Command Theory of Ethical Wrongness” sparked a revival of interest in divine command theory More recently, in his Finite and Infinite Goods, he presented a framework for theistic ethics, with normative moral concepts being analysed in terms of divine commands but evaluative moral concepts being analysed in terms of semblance to God. He is married to Marilyn McCord Adams, Regius Professor of Divinity at Christ Church, Oxford, and ordained priest of the Episcopal church.
