Extractions: It's been a while since I picked up the mouse and keyboard to add to this site. For some time, however, I've been feeling under some 'pressure' to do that which I told myself I wasn't going to do - the usual "How To" section that you find on a lot of sites like this. (There are other sites like this? You're sure about that Oh well...) To cut a long waffle short (hey, you were warned at the beginning of this site that I tend to ramble), a few days ago I started on this. Er... I *tried* to start on this but nothing happened. My mind was a blank. I mean it.. a total, empty Blank! I put it down to distractions of the feminine kind and tried again the next day. No go. Still blank. And the next day, and the next. By this morning, I was reduced to bashing my head against the wall, files that I tried to upload were being corrupted, Java Chat clients not working... you name it, it was happening. By late morning/early afternoon I was ready to give up. (Och mon, will ye no get on with it and quit yer blethering?) Ok already. It suddenly dawned on me as to why I couldn't get started on this. I was already Doing it! But not here. Nor, indeed, on any other web site. As I have mentioned elsewhere, I'm involved with IRC (Internet Relay Chat). For those of you who don't know what that is, it is a medium by which people from all over the world can get together in real time to talk, have fun, exchange views, news, music, whatever. We gather in channels (rooms) in cyberspace which are set up on IRC Networks. Some time ago, I set up a channel called #Nemeton on an IRC Network called Cairdiuil. The purpose of this channel? You guessed it... a teaching (or How To) channel. There you can talk, discuss, learn, teach, download text files, etc. In fact, I'm going to pinch what my off-sider has said about #Nemeton on one of her web sites and include it here :)
