Iren Dornier is taking it on a world tour. It is headed for Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, and Lake Tahoe. In coming weeks, it will be touring Central and South America. Dornier Do-24 web site A Minuteman III missile was launched on a suborbital trajectory toward Kwajalein Atoll from Vandenberg Air Force Base at 1:01 A.M. on Wednesday, September 14. The launch was triggered by an Air Force launch team aboard a Boeing E-6 Mercury. The ascent of the missile was monitored by a crew aboard HALO II , a modified Gulfstream IIB with a large infra-red telescope.
