After working as a commercial artist for 3M Company for several years, Bird decided to leave commercial art in 1968 and devote herself to a full-time professional art career. Her work can now be found in major private and museum collections nationally and internationally. Bird is also an accomplished sculptor working in bronze. Her sculptures, many larger than life, can be found throughout the United States and Europe.
