Extractions: This month we will take a guided tour through the aquarium aqua-stable to have a look at one of the seas most interesting creatures, the sea-horse. Sea horses are proberbly better known to the general public than most marine fish. It's odd shape, prehensile tail and unusual horse like appearance make it almost unforgettable from the first time you see one as a child. Not only is their appearance unique but their anatomy and behaviors are also very interesting. There are approximately 50 known species of sea horses. The two most common in the United States are the large sea horse ( Hippocampus hudsonius punctulatus) and the dwarf sea horse (Hippocampus zosterae). The punctulatus sea horse grows to a length of eight inches. These are a bit difficult to keep as they require constant live food and an aquarium of their own as they will easily be out competed for food with any aggressive feeder in their enviroment. The zosterae sea horse is a miniature copy of it's larger cousin. They have the same anatomy and body characteristics, just in a small, economy size usually not exceeding two inches.

She will be three years old in May of 2004. A real little sweety and a joy to work around. She is a dark bay. A deep chocolate brown. She has beautiful markings. Pics of TALLY TIM ..... is a wonderful 4 year old gelding that stands 17.1 hands. He has dark lashes over his right eye and white lashes over his left eye. He has a dark hair patch that looks like an eyebrow over his left eye. He is sweet and gentle and is loving all the attention that he is receiving here on the farm. He needs lots of love and care to be able to regain his full potential. He was sick and pretty thin. Thanks to my friend TOM for taking great care of TIM and giving him a great home. Check out pics of TIM when he was first brought to the farm UPDATE ON ALEX: Alex has gone to live with some great folks who run a horse rescue place here in Ontario. He is greatly missed but I do know that he is being well taken care of and loved and that his medical conditons are being properly cared for.

His sweet disposition remains unchanged and as of mid March has bred his first mare successfully without any help and with good manners. Bruce continues to run up and down the road delivering horses throughout the US and Canada. This year he hauled 3 of the Canadian horses that competed in Dubai for the World Endurance Cup to their departure flight and picked them up on their return.
