Tabla 1

Extractions: OVERSEAS (EUROPE) MEDICAL SCREENING INTRODUCTION For several years, the medical/social work screening of CF members posted to Europe, as well as their dependants', has caused significant difficulties. Even if the majority of these members and their family are reasonably healthy and do not require special care, the few of them who do inevitably generate major problems for CFMS personnel and administrative authorities who are responsible for them overseas. Those CF members and their family who are allowed to go overseas in spite of important contraindications are often deeply disappointed. They find that what should have been a uniquely pleasant overseas experience has become a nightmare because the types of services they were expecting are not available in the new location, or at least not as easily available as in Canada. To prevent these unfortunate situations, the following guidelines and contact numbers are provided to CFMS personnel to help them better determine who should, and who should not, be considered fit for a posting to Europe. GUIDELINES Recommendations CFH(E) Lahr and CFB Baden These two units have closed more than 7 years ago.

CHEST: Prednisone Improves Symptoms But Not Lung Function In Sarcoidosis. What it is, I don t know. Prednisone should still be prescribed in symptomaticpatients with sarcoidoisis because, there are no other drugs in the pipeline http://www.docguide.com/dg.nsf/PrintPrint/0B04B81F20A2CEF785256AFF006A01D0
Extractions: According to Natesa P Shanmugam, MBBS, a private practice physician in Washington DC, United States, "sarcoidosis is rare when you look at the general population, but amongst minorities the disease is a lot more common. It can affect virtually every organ, and the cause is not known. It predominantly involves the lungs and over the years can lead to respiratory failure in 20 to 30 percent of patients." While working in the pulmonary critical care unity of the DC General Hospital, Dr. Shanmugam and colleagues set out to determine whether prednisone, which is given to patients with sarcoidosis for lack of any other therapeutic options, is actually helpful for this indication. He presented their findings here this week at the annual meeting of the American College of Chest Physicians (ACCP).
