Only one application per school will be accepted and requests will be considered for amounts up to Proposals must come from the School Improvement Teams with approval of the superintendent and school principal. Participation and endorsement by the appropriate teachers union representative is encouraged. There are no forms to be requested from this office relative to this RFP. Applications should be limited to one page, where possible, plus additional pages showing a proposed itemized budget as well as a project timeline (successful applicants will receive funding in December, 2005). All applications must be signed by the superintendent, principal, and chairperson of the School Improvement Team . A contact person must be designated for further communications and information as to how to contact this person during the summer months should be provided as well. Grant requests must be limited to capital items such as classroom equipment or facility improvements. Funding will be considered in the areas of art, science, English, foreign languages, mathematics, music, home economics, computer science, drama, physical education, vocational instruction, school libraries as well as interdisciplinary initiatives.
