RILINK-- Frequently Asked Questions Follett software in your local school library media center to become a memberof RILINK, Meet current rhode island standards for school libraries http://www.rilink.org/FAQ.htm
Extractions: With an automated circulation and catalog system in place in the school library, data from each school is merged with other RILINK members and made available as one RILINK catalog to anyone who has access to the World Wide Web. (As an alternative, a school which has MARC records for its books and other materials, but which does not yet have an automated circulation and catalog system in place in the school, can join RILINK and add its holdings to the shared catalog. The shared catalog can then function as the school's online catalog.) Students or teachers can search RILINK's catalog, find the item needed, and request that it be held for them at their own school or delivered to their school from another RILINK library member. Delivery is provided at no charge to schools through their membership in the statewide LORI delivery system, operated by the Office of Library and Information Services.
