SiteMap Winthrop Handy, the "World's Greatest Dog Photographer", has been capturing the essence of animals since 1976 when he first opened his studio doors. Mr. Handy has created a niche in the market of animal portraiture by being able to photograph, in addition to single animals, large groups. His patience, photographic talent and rapport with animals have made his services sought after by animal lovers from around the world. Early in his career, Mr. Handy formed a cooperative partnership with NEADS (National Education for Assistance Dog Services) and over the years has photographed the graduating classes biannually. Although each class' size will vary, it can always be expected that the image will be something that only Winthrop Handy could create. In 2001 he received the International Eastman Kodak Innovators award.

Bellcore, Hoffman La-Roche,and NYNEX are among the companies for which he has worked as a computer graphic artist. In 1989, he earned an M.F.A. in Computer Art at the School of Visual Arts (SVA). Louis, an Associate Professor, currently teaches computer graphics and graphic design in Fine Arts at St. John'sUniversity. Feeney selected 48 finalists, many of whom were present at the gala award presentation, out of around 300 entrants from throughout New Zealand. This is the 5th year of the National Painting and Printmaking Award, and as usual the judge has been asked to curate the exhibition. Prime Minister Helen Clark spent an hour privately viewing the award prior to the opening as she was unable to open the exhibition as hoped.
