ForLessonPLans.com - How To Write A Lesson Plan In general, a good lesson plan will contain variations of the following items Information about how you will acquire the physical materials required. http://www.forlessonplans.com/lesson_teacher/index.php
Extractions: Dr. Robert Kizlik Successful teachers are invariably good planners and thinkers. In my career as a teacher and teacher educator, I have read and evaluated thousands of lesson plans written by education students at all levels. On a consistent basis, I see mistakes that distort or weaken what the plans are supposed to communicate. You can improve your lesson-planning skills by first thinking carefully about what the lesson is supposed to accomplish. There is no substitute for this. In teaching students how to develop lesson plans, the following are mistakes I have observed that students make most often: The objective of the lesson does not specify what the student will actually do that can be observed. The lesson assessment is disconnected from the behavior indicated in the objective. The materials specified in the lesson are extraneous to the actual described learning activities.

These lessons are presented with fairly specific instructions, for the most part, but should not be understood as carved-in-stone methods. Every teacher will have her or his individual slant on these activities.

Public service announcements (PSAs) educate citizens about issues that are difficult to deal with: homelessness, pollution, teen pregnancy, and alcoholism. Students from Gardiner Area High School in Gardiner, Maine create PSAs to give citizens information about these issues so they can think about them and take positive action. Students from The Harper School in San Jose, California demonstrate an increased understanding of the dynamics of literary point of view as it applies to Chaucer's use of narrative in The Canterbury Tales. They create an original pilgrim and a corresponding "digiTale," a digital movie based on their character, which provides another medium to express a complete narrative beyond paper and pencil.
Pet Store: General Lesson Plan These introductory steps will set the tone for the lesson. Use of these activities must be part of a balanced plan for young childrennot used in http://reta.nmsu.edu/traincd/pet/lesson.html
Extractions: Pet Store: Teacher's Overview Trainer's Page Jump to: Process Tasks Assessment Standards The Pet Store provides early childhood educators with a multidisciplinary, developmentally appropriate example of integrating technology into the (Pre-K-2) curriculum. It provides a hands-on opportunity for participants to recognize, use, and understand appropriate technology use with young children through guided activities that revolve around the Pet Store theme. Students will be planning and creating a Pet Store by working in teams and rotating through a series of stations which requires them to create an advertisement, a presentation, plan and sort data, create a floor map, gather information, categorize and classify animals, and document their progress. This module has a teacher participant and student participant module. The student module is designed to be used within a balanced curricular plan and is not intended for use in isolation. The teacher participant module is a condensed version of the Pet Store lesson, designed to expose participants to the many ways to integrate technology into curricular planning. top Off-line

Wizard Of Oz Lesson Plans Wizard of Ozthemed lesson plans for teachers. (Also ties in with Physical Education.) In the movie, the Scarecrow, the Tin Woodman, and the Cowardly http://www.eskimo.com/~tiktok/ozteach.html
Extractions: These lesson plans are not intended to be complete, but merely to suggest directions a Wizard of Oz -themed lesson can go. For this reason, I have decided not to give any sort of grade range. It is up to the teachers, who know their students and their abilities, to adapt these ideas for their classes. (It should be noted that many of these plans are based on the original novel, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz , which the famous movie is based on, but there are some differences.) These ideas were given to me by Jane Albright of the International Wizard of Oz Club; Susan Bradshaw, a kindergarten teacher in St. Louis, Missouri; Deb Polun, a graduate student at the University of Connecticut; Merewyn DiLiberto; and the L. Frank Baum Oz Festival's Education Task Force in Aberdeen, South Dakota. I've also added a few ideas of my own, and the contributors of other individual ideas are also acknowledged. Don't let the somewhat arbitrary labels throw you, there is a lot of interdisciplinary learning here, and I give some suggestions of what other areas similar lessons can be applied.
