For details on actual pieces, please go to the Exhibit Origami Art Page. Exhibit rental fees depend on the number of pieces rented. It is expected that the group requesting the exhibit pay for the rental of the pieces and the shipment. Every consideration will be given to the needs and conditions of the group renting, the venue or the event in pricing. Display cases are available, but due to their weight, it is recommended that only groups near Charlotte take advantage of the cases. The large rhinocerous is only available in the Charlotte region as it would have to be transported by truck. Please contact us for details. The following artists are represented in the Southeast Origami permanent collection that is available for exhibits: Akira Yoshizawa (1911- ) 93 year old Living National Treasure of Japan (Japan) Jonathan Baxter, a native New Zealander, is Mr. Origami in Charlotte and indeed the whole Southeast. After living in New Zealand, Australia, and England, he arrived in Charlotte 22 years ago, bringing his love of origami with him. He first worked as creative director at Children's Theatre and then made origami his artistic career. In 1991 he was privileged to attend classes by Japan's legendary origami master, Akira Yoshizawa. Professional commissions include pieces for commercial display, TV commercials, film productions, special events, and public buildings. Jonathan has exhibited throughout the U.S., Japan, Europe, and his native New Zealand. In 1994 he founded the Southeast Origami Festival, an event that has earned a national and international reputation as being the best of its kind.
