All local Teachers of the Year will be recognized during the ceremony. The Oklahoma State Teacher of the Year serves as the state's Ambassador for Teaching, sharing knowledge and resources with fellow educators around the state and encouraging education as a profession. Under the leadership of Superintendent Garrett, the state's Teacher of the Year program has been expanded to include state funding for a full-time educator to care for the winner's classes for the year.
