Lesson Plans FCIT is funded by the Florida Department of Education, office of Educational technology, The lesson plans in the TNT Database had become very outdated. http://fcit.coedu.usf.edu/tnt/
Extractions: The Florida Center for Instructional Technology (FCIT) is located in the College of Education University of South Florida , at Tampa, Florida. FCIT is funded by the Florida Department of Education Office of Educational Technology , to provide leadership, instructional materials, and support services to educational institutions with regard to the integration of technology into K-20 education. The faculty members and graduate students in the USF Instructional Technology program contribute to many of the products created by FCIT. The lesson plans in the TNT Database had become very outdated. Many of them were based on specific content programs that are no longer available. We decided it was time to update both the content and presentation of our online lesson plans, so we created the Educational Technology Clearinghouse. The lesson plans on ETC are somewhat different than the plans in TNT. For one thing, we put them into an easy-to-read outline format. Busy teachers don't have time or the need to read extended wordy plans. Secondly, we added a short video where possible so you can see the lesson in action. Many teachers have commented how beneficial it is to actually see a lesson being implemented in a real classroom. Finally, the plans center around tool-based software rather than content-based software. In the new set of plans, students learn with the software, rather than

Extractions: Home The EDmin Planning Center Archive T H E E D M I N P L A N N I N G C E N T E R By Dixie Conner In this time of state budget cuts and spending restraint when school districts face a federal mandate to increase student achievement and academic accountability, even as state education funding dwindles effective planning is critical for our nation's schools. Now, more than ever, districts must set priorities and develop detailed plans on how to achieve their goals. Writing strategic plans, school improvement plans, and/or technology plans can seem like a daunting task; often it's a chore no one seems to have time to complete. And no wonder! Most of those planning documents are written as endless narratives. Seldom utilized, they aren't seen as useful tools for getting a job done they're seen as onerous jobs in themselves. Technology plans, in particular, have been written primarily to plan for hardware acquisition, not to outline how technology integration can increase student academic performance. About the Author
