Extractions: Siamese Rescue Metro Siamese Rescue Metro is a non-profit labor of love begun to fill the needs of abused, abandoned and surrendered Siamese cats on a local level. We are a grassroots, volunteer run organization currently serving the areas of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, DC Metro area and portions of New York and Virginia. We exist in great part on the donations we receive as well as on the proceeds from fundraising efforts. Our mission is simple, to evaluate and place the Siamese we rescue into loving and appropriate forever homes. Siamese Rescue Metro has no freestanding facility to house our rescued animals. We use a foster care system, so our animals are currently fostered in both PA and NJ. Approved adopters may visit our available cats by making an appointment. Please realize that as an all volunteer organization our schedules are not always as flexible as we would like. We will work with you to accommodate everyone's schedule as much as possible. About Siamese As a breed, Siamese are abandoned and turned into shelters more often than any other. Often this is due to owners not researching the breed prior to purchasing or rescuing. Siamese are demanding, loyal, loving, vocal and intelligent pets. These same qualities are listed as the reasons for their surrender at shelters around the country. The intelligence of a Siamese cat requires an owner who is willing and able to spend time every day with their pet playing interactive games that will challenge and stimulate their mind. A bored Siamese can become a destructive Siamese, not out of spite just natural curiosity and a talent for finding the one thing in the house you did not want them to touch!

Extractions: During two critical winters of the Revolutionary War, 1777 and 177980, the countryside in and around Morristown, New Jersey, sheltered the main encampments of the American Continental Army and served as the headquarters of its commander-in-chief, General George Washington. General Washington twice chose Morristown due to its strategic location, including proximity to New York City, defensible terrain, important communication routes, access to critical resources, and a supportive community. The park encompasses ground occupied by the army during the vast 1779-80 encampment, and the site of the fortification from the 1777 encampment. The Ford Mansion, where Washington made his headquarters, is an important feature of the park and recalls civilian contributions to the winning of independence. The national park consists of four non-contiguous units: Washingtons Headquarters with the Ford Mansion and Headquarters Museum, the Fort Nonsense Unit, the Jockey Hollow Unit, and the New Jersey Brigade Area. The Jockey Hollow Unit includes the Wick house (headquarters of General Arthur St. Clair), five reconstructed soldier huts, and approximately 27 miles of walking trails. Search
