Local utility companies, Nevada Power, and Southwest Gas will integrate energy education programs to maximize the teaching and learning of wise energy behaviors in school buildings. The Nevada Small Business Development Center will lead project efforts in the local government and commercial building sectors. Lesson plans will be completed for 2004 workshops. Schools also receive "live" data feeds from seismograph stations in the University of Nevada Network, western US stations, and global seismograph stations (IRIS BUD Server), as well as "live" feeds from other K-12 sites. Waveform data from remote sites is managed on the local PC so educators and students can interact with waveform data from throughout the world. In most cases, existing school computers can be used.
