It is based on the belief that skills are developed and added throughout one's lifetime. Life planning is a "holistic" philosophy designed to help people define their personal values and priorities in broad areas including health, leisure, personal growth and productivity and then link financial resources to realize these goals. If you have information to share with colleagues and would like to have it included in Life Planning News, contact Jacque Miller ( jmiller@coop.ext.colostate.edu ) or Judy McKenna ( mckenna@cahs.colostate.edu Thanks to Ellen Audley for helping with this newsletter. The 2002 Consumer Action Handbook This handbook is divided into three sections. Children's Education as the Most Important Savings Goal As the age of the household head increases, if the household head is in good health, if the household head works full time, if the spouse is employed, and if the next 5 to 10 years are the most important savings period. Farm Family Retirement and Succession Planning Between January and May of 2001, interviews and focus groups provided information regarding a study done on farm family retirement, farm transfer, and succession planning. The purpose of the study was to obtain information about plans for the future, identify any perceived barriers to planning, and offer suggestions for education and research.
