The AMC hosts an archive directory for the USAMO, IMO and Asian Pacific for some or all of the years 1986-1999. Contests The International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) is an international competition for pre-college students held every July. Up to six participants from each country, selected using national olympiad-type exams (see below), attempt to solve 6 problems in 2 sessions of 4.5 hours. The top scorers are honored with gold, silver and bronze medals.

This is a three hour exam which tests problem solving skills and mathematical ingenuity rather than being directed toward the content of a specific course. Calculators and computers may NOT be used. (Students should also bring enough pre-sharpened pencils since no pencil sharpeners are available.) The 2004 Contest was held on Saturday, November 13, 2004. Each year in October, letters are sent to high schools in the Bay Area inviting them to request tickets for those students interested in participating.
