Effective alternatives include private schools whose focus is a military style of discipline and education. Military schools provide cadets with the traditional college prep curriculum found in public schools, but the quality of teaching often exceeds that found in public school. Since most military schools are also a boarding school, many times the teachers are fully dedicated to the students and can offer extra academic assistance. In addition to a quality education, cadets can expect to have organized daily study time to ensure they complete their assignments and keep from falling behind.

Extractions: University of Phoenix Louisiana University of Phoenix has been providing educational opportunities to the working adult population for over 25 years. The Universitys original model was founded to address several key problems regarding the availability and applicability of traditional teaching and service methods with respect to the working adult student. The result was a unique learning experience that allowed working adult students to develop both affective and cognitive skills through intense and concentrated courses. These courses met in physical locations during the evening and weekend hours. This innovation created an opportunity at a scale previously unknown in higher education - the opportunity for the working adult student to more easily return to a collegiate environment to further their educational skills. From its inception in 1976 through to present day, the University has graduated over 140,000 students. Now, over two decades since its beginnings, the University continues to innovate to provide adult students with the most current learning experiences offered through leading edge modalities. The Universitys addition of the FlexNet® program significantly broadens the working adult population it reaches by further minimizing time and location dependencies. FlexNet® provides students with the opportunity to enjoy the convenience of the online classroom, along with the face-to-face interaction presented in the on-ground classroom.
