We are making an effort to identify specific families or specific needs in order to have some feel for where our contributions are going. We will communicate with the various relief agencies relative to where our contributions can best be used. We also recognize the need for on going support for many of the storm victims. For this reason, we would like to designate a day per month for donations at our schools. We will continue to communicate with our students and parents about this project. Students, faculty, and staff at Abingdon High School celebrated Constitution Day on Friday, September 16, by wearing red, white, and blue. In addition, the Falcon Marching Band and the AHS Chorus led the student body in patriotic songs honoring our freedom and Constitutional rights and the AHS Fight Song. AHS students gave informational speeches on facts surrounding the formation of the Constitution, with SCA President Clay M. and custodian, Emory Hale, providing their musical talents to conclude the assembly. During the week of September 12-15, 2005, the students helped re-roof the stand alone freezers that are located near the school board annex. The project involved removing old roofing materials and recovering the roof with new materials.
