The South Central Kansas Education Service Center was formed to provide services to member districts in a collaborative and cost effective manner. The service center is comprised of educational agencies consisting of unified school districts, interlocals, cooperatives and community colleges. The philosophy that no one of us is as strong as all of us prevails in attempting to identify needs and to find cost effective ways to meet those needs. In July 1990 the State Board of Education approved the Interlocal Agreement for USD 628, South Central Kansas Education Service Center. The following seven school districts form the current Interlocal Agreement: The service center is governed by a Board of Directors consisting of one member from the board of education of each of the seven Unified School Districts entering into the Interlocal Agreement. Each board of education appoints a representative to the Board of Directors. The term of office of the members of the Board of Directors expires concurrently with their term of office as local board of education members. The Board of Directors meets at least monthly.
