When designing JWP, the highest priority was given to basic Japanese word processing functions. It does not (yet) have fancy font-control and advanced layout features found in other high-end English word processors. You can always use Japanese PageMaker for that purpose. It is assumed that JWP will be used mainly to handle Japanese text with an occasional English word or two. The program is not optimized to handle writings with large amount of English text and a few Japanese characters; for those circumstances, it is much better to employ a normal English word processor and paste in Japanese bitmaps.

But it has the weakness that learner can not key in target language's sentence freely in current CALL system, particularly in computer assisted writing learning system. The learner just accepts the information which follows the instruction of curriculum which is pre-installed in the computer. Therefore, it can not be said that these type of systems are totally interactive. Due to this reason, more and more research [1][3][10] on NLP techniques in CALL system are being conducted. Research [2][5][9] on error analysis of writing learning system has been particularly improved with the excellent experiment result [6] in the robustness of NLP. In CALL system, the analysis of the typed sentence is a must in order to allow learners to phrase their own sentences freely without following any pre-fixed rules. Therefore, we used NLP tools in order to analyze typed sentence.

It's sad, but academic ethics are low enough to make this a real possibility. Japanese Sign Language (JSL) is a family of complex visual-spatial languages used by Deaf communities in Japan. There is no single standard JSL, although the Tokyo form does have some hegemonic force since many of the TV broadcasts and meetings are sponsored by Tokyo Deaf groups. The national sign languages in Taiwan and Korea apparently have incorporated some JSL signs and forms from the colonial occupation of these countries by Japan prior to World War II. Japanese Sign Language is distinct from spoken/written Japanese in both grammar and lexicon, although many Deaf signers will use Manually Coded Japanese / Pidgin Signed Japanese when signing to hearing or non-native JSL signers. The grammatical system shares many similarities with other national sign languages in its use of the complex visual space available, classifiers, and other complex forms.
