Extractions: Highlighting Education and Resources (H.E.A.R.) and Hearing and Vision Connections (H.V.C.) have many things in common, however, they are two separate and distinct programs. Marcia Breese is the coodinator for Highlighting Education and Resources, and Gail Olson is the coordinator for Hearing and Vision Connections. This weeks Cyberchat will focus on Highlighting Education and Resources. Highlighting Education and Resources employs 7 trainer/consultants who reside in different parts of the state, and work on a contractual basis. Three of the trainers are deaf or hard of hearing, one of whom is a certified audiologist and has a cochlear implant. Six of the trainers are certified teachers of the deaf, and two trainers also hold type 75 certificates. Trainings are provided at the convenience of the schools... after school, in the evenings and on weekends. The amount of travel is considerable and involves loading and unloading heavy equipment and materials. Fortunately, Highlighting Education and Resources employs trainers who are well qualified and committed to the Highlighting Education and Resources program!
