Superintendent Garn Christensen earned his Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Utah in Salt Lake in 1984, his Masters in Education Administration from the College of Idaho in 1988, and Ph.D. from Washington State University in 2004. He received his Superintendent Credential from Washington State University in 1997. He taught 3rd and 6th grades in Utah and K-8 in a one-room school in Idaho. Garn then served as an elementary principal in Idaho before he moved to Chewelah School District in 1994. In Chewelah he worked in positions such as technology director, elementary and alternative school principal, and superintendent. Campuses The public schools rest on two sites. One elementary school, a community school, along with the middle and high schools, occupy a 60-acre campus in the City of Sequim. A second elementary school sits on approximately 20-acres, three (3) miles west of Sequim near Carlsborg. The total district population surpasses 25,000 with many people living in housing developments scattered about the area. Sequim, a community of 4,500 citizens, offers most of the conveniences needed by its residents.
