Types Of Activites In The Arts I believe it was because I was studying musicology/music history as well as Synthesis is a part of research as well; it is unclear whether teaching has http://home.att.net/~jaohlma/writings/activity-arts/
Extractions: Author's Note: This essay is another product of 1995's "Directed Research in Performance" led by Dr. Richard Kennell. The question that was posed to the class this time was something to the effect of "if we're here to study performance, why are we using time to conduct research?" I believe it was because I was studying musicology/music history as well as performance that I felt a particular resonance with this question. Perhaps I was attempting to justify the process to myself. Frankly, however, I think it was more the case that I felt it was incumbant upon myself as the resident "scholar" to justify the research process to the unwashed heathen I mean, to the performance students. Once I had the paper written up, I brought it to Dr. Kennell and we discussed some of its content. He also said that he would copy it off and distribute it to the rest of the class to read and discuss near the end of the semester. Reviewing the paper now, flaws in my reasoning and the my underlying ideological bias seem obvious. Nonetheless, the writing and defending of it before an audience of my peers was a valuable experience. One last thing: that third word in the title, the one that, even now, you're probably thinking is a typographical error? It is not. It is an alternate spelling and I like it better than 'holistic'. Come on people, would I really go to the trouble of writing this and then misspell a key word in the title?

Anson Clark, Rector of St. Andrew's, Elyria, was conducting services in private Oberlin homes. The Rev. Francis Granger helped the Oberlinians organize as The Association of the Friends of the Episcopal Church in Oberlin in 1854, the articles of the Association being formally signed by 31 people on April 18, 1855. Mr. Granger made several trips to the East to obtain part of what was then the enormous sum of $3,000 so that a church building might be built. Mr. Granger served as Rector from 1855 to 1858. Construction of the Church began in 1856 and was completed in 1859, and the building was consecrated by Bishop McIlvaine on May 11 of that year. The total cost of the building was approximately $5,000. The Bishop personally contributed $200 toward the erection of the Rectory. Complete in 1861, it stood just south of the Church and served as a home for Rectors until 1967. It was demolished in 1972.

Holocaust Activities When teaching about the Holocaust, it is important to keep the student s age in In the intermediate grades, students learn a great deal about history http://fcit.coedu.usf.edu/holocaust/activity/Intermed.htm
Extractions: When teaching about the Holocaust, it is important to keep the student's age in mind. The matrix and lessons provided below may be used as a guideline for the elementary grades. Children in the primary grades can be expected to understand concepts related to family, similarities and differences in people, and getting along with others. According to Piaget (1969), children of this age should be expected to have difficulty with time-related concepts although they can develop conceptual understanding and learning processes about time that are important for future acquisition of historical concepts. In the intermediate grades, students learn a great deal about history outside of school. This knowledge comes from experiences with historic buildings and sites, artifacts, stories told by relatives, and images presented in the media. Sharing objects, family heirlooms, an object from each year of the child's life is important. Beginning with students' experiences provides meaning and significance. Students in the intermediate grades begin to practice skills such as decision making and conflict resolution, and to build tolerance and compassion for others.
