It recognizes those who have enriched the lives of others by attaining the highest standards of excellence and achievement in their respective fields. Dr. Robin Badgley, Research Emeritus at CRWH is among this year's 29 recipients. Dr. Badgley served on the taskforce that guided the establishment of CRWH at the University of Toronto and Women's College Hospital in 1995. He served as a Senior Research Scientist with the Violence and Health Research Program at CRWH from 1996-2001 and as an emeritus researcher since then. Dr. Badgley chaired two national fact-finding inquiries for the Government of Canada, on the Operation of the Abortion Law (1975-77) and Sexual Offences Against Children (1980-1984) and has authored a number of books on health care and equity issues. As an Extra-Departmental Unit of the Faculty of Medicine, CRWH works to promote and foster women's health research across the University of Toronto and its affiliated institutions.
