Extractions: feature: project ffdog volume five, final fantasy vii review September 22, 2005, 01:08 PM by tim, via team FFDog, square-enix, dr. pepper [p] Hello. It's me, Tim Rogers. This marks the first post I've ever made on insertcredit.com's front page. Isn't that mysterious? Why did it take me so long? Who knows. Anyway, I'm coming to you today to link you to Project FFDog: Volume Five , which covers the theme of Final Fantasy VII : A Game For the Proletariat, By the Bourgeoisie." It is a serious matter. The lecture begins as soon as you click here . Bring a notepad and a tall glass of Dr. Pepper . Your professors Tim Rogers and Doug Jones will be tag-teaming for four hours . So do pay attention. . . . Oh, who am I kidding? It's utter nonsense. It's screaming, horrific, complete, and utter nonsense. Though some of you find it funny to watch such nonsense, and find it even funnier to email me hatemail, saying you're going to find me and kill me if I don't put up FFDog V now , or else saying that you're going to find me and kill me if I do . So here it is. Laugh, if you will laugh, and don't, if you will don't.

Scope and Audience Disaster Preparedness is the term libraries and archives use to describe the process of considering the varied risks to their valuable, and sometimes irreplaceable, information collections, and their catalogs, facilities, equipment and staff. The term refers to plans for minimizing occurrences of destruction, damage or disappearance and making ready for effective response and recovery to disruptive or catastrophic impacts on institutions resources. While certain risks, such as fire, theft or loss of data can hope to be minimized, others, such as hurricane or earthquake are more difficult to avoid. In some cases Disaster Preparedness can protect organizations from disasters, in others, it is a way to more effectively and efficiently manage the aftermath of a disaster that could not be averted.

Impressions from Reno : Depository Library Council Meeting, April 2003 (1) Bush Administraton Rewriting Declassification E.O. 12295 A draft executive order (EO) expected to replace President Clinton's E.O. 12958 that focuses on national security classification and declassification policy, circulated for agency comment during the week of March 10th. Though no public hearings (as were held during the Clinton Administration) are slotted to take place, NARA officials are also meeting informally with various interested parties in an effort to explain the Bush Administration's thinking behind the proposed revision. Since it was issued by the Clinton White House, EO 12958 has dramatically accelerated the declassification process and has yielded close to a billion pages of historically valuable declassified documents. But according to Steven Aftergood, editor of the Federation of American Scientists newsletter Secrecy News, "In recent decades, whenever the presidency shifted from one party to another, the new president would issue an executive order on secrecy policy to serve as the foundation of the classification system. Typically, and at least rhetorically, the orders issued by Democratic presidents (e.g., Clinton's EO 12958) have emphasized disclosure, while those of Republican presidents (e.g., Reagan's EO 12356) have stressed secrecy."
Cover Story of the Physics Astronomy Division of the Special libaries Association. . Stephen comes to us from hawaii where he had been a student of Rick Crowe http://www.astro.utoronto.ca/DDO/Doings/jan97/all.html
Extractions: The Department gathered at DDO on December 13, 1996 for the annual Christmas Countdown. Organized by GASA, the event was well-attended by students, staff, faculty and friends. Following the pizza and salads everyone gathered outside the building for the group photograph, this year made tremendously humorous by Karl's putative photographic assistant. A simple overturned beer bottle in the pants pocket of our assistant photographer was enough to turn a normally smiling group into a laughing-to-tears mob. For THAT photograph, link to http://www.astro.utoronto.ca/group.1996.html The planned entertainment then began in the lecture room and judging by the loud laughter echoing the halls of the observatory, the offerings were all well received. Our Santa should be congratulated on his performance, and GASA for its beneficience. During tea and coffee, the mysterious Droppings (the anti-Doings) appeared. Desserts were temporarily ignored as everyone became absorbed by the Droppings. Some seconds later the room returned to its normal state with conversations and fun ending the silence. Thanks are due GASA for arranging the 1996 Countdown, and to Florence Unwin for organizing the food and decorations.
