If wssWindow is already open, the browser simply navigates to the application in the already open window. Surprisingly, this works even if an entirely different browser opened the window. Workaround: If you want to run Web Soil Survey instances in two different windows, you must navigate to the Web Soil Survey application URL (http://websoilsurvey.nrcs.usda.gov/app/WebSoilSurvey.aspx) in each browser instance, instead of starting the application with the "Start WSS" button on the home page.

Directions: From Waikiki get on Ala Wai Blvd., turn right on McCully Street and head towards the mountains. You will cross a bridge over the H1 Lunalilo Freeway, after the bridge turn left onto Wilder Avenue. Drive northwest and turn right on Makiki Street, at the 1st set of lights. Follow Makiki Street up until you come to a Y and then take Round Top Drive the rest of the way. You will end up going past the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific at Punchbowl and will come out into the business district of Honolulu. Waimea Bay Beach Park - Map: If you should visit in the summer months, this picture postcard perfect tropical cove can look like one of the most romantic places in Hawaii. Waimea in the summer is calm and inviting with its gentle waves lapping onto a wide sandy beach. However, in the winter this beach becomes hostile and unmerciful with some of the largest, most dangerous and most spectacular surf in the world. Surf can be as high as 30 feet and waves can break on shore as high as 12 feet. During these periods of high winter surf, this beach is frequently closed.

There are no hotels or visitor tours to Niihau, you may visit only by resident invitation. I have never been, and will probably never be invited. It is visible off the western shores of Kauai - the forbidden isle looming in the distance.
