Jaime's Blog Happy Ground Hog's Day! Today, by the way, is Ground Hog day but we celebrated a little bit early! Monday was my first day teaching english at a Catholic School near here! http://www.iaufrance.org/blog/Jaime's Blog/archives/249.html
Extractions: Arles and la Camargue Main Happy Ground Hog's Day! Hey Everyone, sorry it's taken me so long to add onto this... the weekends seem to be packed with exciting adventures while during the week, the computer lab is packed with IAU students! So finally a free moment and a free computer to work on this! Well, last friday i began my 4 week course on Vineology... yes the study of wine! The class only meets 4 times but so far i've learned alot of interesting things about wine. I even know what is considered the best wine of Provence. It's true that drinking that stuff is an acquired taste and i haven't really acquired it yet. I had to force myself to taste the last wine. (each week we learn about 4 different wines and taste them too!) I can honestly say that i think that is the most i've ever had to drink in one sitting! :) Sunday morning i went with a bunch of friends from IAU to Cassis, which is about 40 minutes from Aix. We went for another hike. The view from the cliffs was amazing! It overlooked the mediteranean sea. We had a little pic nic lunch mid way through the climb and got to enjoy the view. My digital camera was dead for the St. Victoire trip but i put in new batteries so i'll show you some pictures from that. So needless to say, i got my work out for the weekend! We made it back in time for church, which i look forward to every sunday! I wish you all could meet these people, you'd fall in love with them immediately! Classes are going well... i'm having to put a little more effort into them! But c'est pas mal! OH! and... Monday was my first day teaching english at a Catholic School near here! I had such a great time! I taught 4th grade and the kids were so great... they all knew some things in english already which was fun to review with them. I taught the class in french which was a challenge for me but i told the kids in the beginning that i was teaching them english and they can help me with my french! So i'm looking forward for next week doing that!
